I believe it was not a mic issue but some kind of connection issue making the digital sound output to the stream very bad. RIght before the press conference started there was heavy video lag. The quality is better in ChessBase India's video recording of the press conference.

This conference, and really the whole event (minus the players themselves of course) has a feeling of some cheap game on a local level in some small town :/ FIDE really spared every expense.

There's an interview of Ding sayen Lizhen is correct, but he doesn't seem bothered by Liren so I'd guess both are not wrong. Chinese is complicated and not everything translates well to the latin letter set
