Hike

Hiking Smith Mountain: San Gabriel Mountains (Angeles National Forest), Azusa, CA.
Smith Mountain is a prominent peak on the edge of the San Gabriel Wilderness. It is reached after hiking the Upper Bear Creek Trail from Azusa Canyon Rd (and some steep climbing up a firebreak). Chances are, you will have the summit to yourself. The same has happened to me every time I was up it. This was my first spring climb, though. I was surprised by the ample spring blooms!
