Yes it is. Actually, it is perfect being that way. I can't think of a better place to go to take someone if they expressed an interest in hiking, but weren't sure about it. If they like it there, then the next step would be to introduce them to a traditional trail.

Yes. You can go either direction. Or even just an out and back if you prefer.
