Hike into St. Leon Hot Springs (BC, Kootenays)

St Leon is a small hot spring less than an hour hike from the main road near Nakusp, BC. The hike in is a bit of a deterrent, so there is a good chance of having the place to yourself - especially on weekdays!
The hot spring features a comfortable main pool with a couple of smaller ones. Above in the 'crowsnest' there is a delightfully hot pool near the source. This place is highly highly recommended!

What a great hike to the natural hot springs. We've been to both the public and Halcyon Hot Springs resort. Is St. Leon near to either one? Nice video, thanks for sharing. Tom & Suzanne.

Yes it is pretty close to both those. Halfway hot springs is another favourite in that area.

Nice hotspring. I always thought this is a private hotspring located on private property. How hot was the water? A lot of the hotspring the water is only warm. Have you ever hiked into upper halfway hotspring?

We didn’t see any signs or any indication of private land. The water was very hot, almost too hot near the source. Upper halfway not yet but has been on the list for a while.

the hot spring is on private property. in 2022 there was 2 people that reported getting trasspassing notices from RCMP when they got back to their cars parked beside the locked gates off the highway. Signs are hard to find cause people rip em off often.

Not private. You can go to it when ever you want. No body can’t own a geothermal source
