The skirt on the fly is for camping in snow - you pile snow on top of the skirt to prevent snow being blown under the fly into the tent.

Another great video, my brother and I did all that area over Easter; loved it. The Hot Hands hand warmers are a revelation, warm hands all evening in your gloves then put them inside your sleeping bag at night; so much warmer to sleep. Keep them coming, you were my inspiration to start wild camping 2 years ago.

Must visit that part of the moor sometime. Just got back from another north/south trip with my brother. Had blazing sun, 43 mile an hour winds, rain, hail and freezing temps. My face looks like i dipped it in acid and 33 miles later my feet were ready to fall off but it was worth it, another great 5 day trip. It has tempted me to try tarp and bivvy to reduce weight though!
@SummitOrNothing

Wow. Sounds like a cracking excursion. You should check out the lanshan, there's a link in the description. Lighter than a tent but cosier than a tarp. Also, the small additional weight is probably less than a decent bivvy bag. Thanks for watching, Tom!

@@SummitOrNothing BTW have you thought about using the plastic cover from the bottom of the Jetboil as a mug? That's what I do with mine, to save chugging from that massive neoprene covered thing.

I know Nath used it once when we were out and he couldn't hold it for ages til it cooled down anyway. I only used the pot because I learnt my mug to Stan.

Great question, David! They're known as 'Tors', its a name synominous with moorland peaks and rocks in the southwest of England.

Thank you. That sounds Viking in origin but I don’t know. I haven’t been back to your country in about 25 years and that was for school. I am coming back to hike someday your videos are very helpful. And wonderful. And I know what rum to bring as well. If you and yours ever come to South Carolina I will take you to see the alligators, up close but safely :-)
