Finally! A nice enough day to revisit Stem Rock!

I'd first heard of this cool spot a while back and made my only prior trip here on a very drab and drizzly December day. The weather that day just made it not be worth taking pictures off, and instead I vowed to return on a blue-sky day - especially considering how easy the hike is.
The signage that is by the parking spot (which is right off the asphalt!) points you in the right direction, and the extremely obvious trail is easy to follow. That's all you need - just keep on walking for 3/4 mile and you are there!
There are several little spurs just off trail that lead to intriguing smaller overlooks that you'll be tempted to explore, but none compare with the main event here. The final approach to Stem Rock is just cool. The well placed bench, which is exceedingly well crafted, brought a smile to my face upon arrival.
The turtle rocks up above have a few cracks to aid peeking down below, and down below is where the fun stuff is at.There are many nooks and crannies to explore down there, and we spent a little time checking out as much as we had time for,.
Spring was beginning to show signs of life again too - which also made for a refreshing stroll back. The trail was decidedly less muddy than on our prior trip with much less need for dancing around the mud holes this time over. It's a very flat trail all the way, the climb down to access below is nominal. All in - a GREAT day out~!
We'd been staying at a new Airbnb nearby - Hidden Falls. I'll use this opportunity to rightfully give them a plug. Named after the Hidden Falls on property and complete with hiking trails too - this immaculate place is worth considering should you have a need when in the area. Here's the link for you to check out Hidden Falls: air.tl/vFQo7VPg
Google maps will take you right to the parking spot. Phone signal is poor at best in most areas. Keep that in mind before you go. Download digital maps you may need in advance. If you visit these places, please recreate responsibly. Leave no trace and #leavenotrace
All pictures and clips are taken using my iPhone and right hand while hiking. ..apologies for picture wobbles!
