We take a lot of things for granted in Jamaica. We want so much to be first world, to become large metropolitan concrete cities, that we no longer value our natural world and how much it provides for us. I love this video because it shows why I love nature and natural permaculture living so much. Going to the bush on the mountain to pick food and that food is growing everywhere. Most of the food growing on this mountain is self-sustaining and there is enough of it to provide him and several families with 3 meals a day plus snacks. No, I am not impressed with your Gated Communities, I am not impressed with your highways and I am not impressed with your smog filled cities or your fancy cars. What I am impressed with is Mokko’s ability to climb his mountain farm, filled with organic natural foods, to sit under a tree, eat as much as he wants, enjoying the cool breeze of the Caribbean and look out on the most beautiful view I have ever seen. That is living!

I live in California and believe most people raised in that environment would quickly become unhappy living in The concrete Jungle. We go to places like Jamaica on holiday to relax and get our head together. In the western world stress is huge. Material things do not equal happiness.

Hey matty can u ask ratty or mokko how they go about farming in the dry season with no rain? asyou know in our temperate regions if we plant in the bush and just bung stuff in its just gonna dry out and die, and hats iff the wildlife dont find it first which they alllways do.. such good noses on our native animals in tasmania and so many of them cause no real predators left here after european invasion

Proud Jamaican from New York. My spouse and I are both Jamaican and been thinking about moving to Jamaica to settle for the rest of our lives.. Thank you for sharing this video and showing what Jamaica is truly about. I’m telling you there’s food EVERYWHERE and it’s more organic and natural than what we see today 🤞🏾🙏🏾🇯🇲
