We take a lot of things for granted in Jamaica. We want so much to be first world, to become large metropolitan concrete cities, that we no longer value our natural world and how much it provides for us. I love this video because it shows why I love nature and natural permaculture living so much. Going to the bush on the mountain to pick food and that food is growing everywhere. Most of the food growing on this mountain is self-sustaining and there is enough of it to provide him and several families with 3 meals a day plus snacks. No, I am not impressed with your Gated Communities, I am not impressed with your highways and I am not impressed with your smog filled cities or your fancy cars. What I am impressed with is Mokko’s ability to climb his mountain farm, filled with organic natural foods, to sit under a tree, eat as much as he wants, enjoying the cool breeze of the Caribbean and look out on the most beautiful view I have ever seen. That is living!
