hope you enjoyed your hike along the west highland way,i did it a few years back too,and hands down,it was the best holiday i have ever been on.walking along the sides of the mountains in glencoe and the west highlands,really gives you a feel of being part of the land you are walking on,rather than driving through.i was not doing photography when i did it,so missed a lot of opportunities,looking forward to your further videos on this walk.well done.

Excellent video. I attempted the WHW in September 2018 but had to abandon the attempt after 4 days due to really bad weather and illness. I made my second attempt in May 2019 and, this time, succeeded. The WHW is a wonderful walk with stunning scenery and some really great photo opportunities. Would love to go back and attempt it again. Cheers.

Would you recommend May as the best month for hiking the WHW? Thanks!
@kenhenley75993 жыл бұрын
@@neillbriggs9029 I did the WHW in May 2019 over about 10 days and had glorious weather until the final 2 days when it rained all one day and half the following day. The problem is that we are talking about Scotland and the weather can be glorious one minute and abysmal the next. I was lucky. It really is a question of "yer pays yer money and takes yer chance". Sorry but I can't really be more specific.

We did the walk in 2010. Later in 2016 the speyside way. Wonderfull walks. Both. Expected to see more people in 2016. It’s whisky walhalla after all. But not. Liked the west highland way more. Why ? Like u said. More people from everywhere. Shot a picture at the end of Loch Lomond. And had it painted. Can’t believe why people would go to Salou for example. Scotland memories are eternal.

I had no idea that you had done the West Highland Way. Doing it was the reason that I bought my first camera, nine years ago. I've revisited many times since (I live in West Lothian, so none of it is too far away). But I think that you missed a trick by dismissing the scenery on Day One so quickly. It's not as knock-yer-socks-off gorgeous as the rest of the route, but it still has a charm and character all of its own. There is a great pano to be had as you leave Tinkers Loan through the gate and enter Strathblane. Before that, there are shots to be had around Craigallian Loch. Dumgoyne is always going to be a focal point on this section, but you can avoid that by taking an extra couple of hours out, and hiking to the top of it. It's a steep climb, but well worth the effort.

Thanks very much mate! Yes it’s absolutely class and there were tons of people doing it alone as well (actually one of my favourite part about the hike was meeting all these awesome people). @timsalton5 жыл бұрын
Yes! The West Highland Way - absolutely love it. As a matter of fact it was that exact trip that sparked my love for landscape photography (and Scotch whisky 😂) back in 2016. I bought my first camera after that trip and have been passionate about hiking and photography ever since. Scotland is just amazingly beautiful. I have returned there each year at least once for a week or two to explore more of the Highlands as well as most of the hebrides. Excited to see the full set of vlogs. And yes, at times the route gets very touristy but there are stretches of the trail where suddenly no one was to be seen for hours. Thanks for being such an inspiration and all the best for your upcoming adventure in Germany!
