Hiking and Wild-Camping the Skye Trail | Day 4: Portree to Sligachan Valley 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

In June 2022, I hiked and wild camped the entire length of the Isle of Skye Trail. I travelled from north to south and the route took me 6 days, covering approximately 137km, or 85 miles in total. For more information on this hike, please see my Skye Trail blog at jonnyboywander...
After having a well earned and well needed sleep in a bed at Portree Independant Hostel, I set off towards Sligachan. Due to the amount of road walking involved some guide books suggest to skip this part out, but I was determined to complete the whole trail, and I'm glad I did it in the end. The section was still more beautiful than you would find in a lot of places. Feeling in good spirits and with my body well rested, I made great time, and quickly finished off the road sections. From here on it was a nice casual but still beautiful walk along Loch Sligachan until I reached the bridge. I decided to push on further for another hour or so before finding a perfect green spot to camp right by the path. By completing a record 25km on this day, I also put myself ahead of schedule and on course to make it in 6 days.
