Don't worry, you'll be just fine. Simply take the same bus and follow the same route as shown in the video. As for the restaurants, there are a few options, but be mindful of the time since most places close after 2 or 3 PM. Have a great trip!

Hello! Planning to visit there in December 2024. May I ask if there's a winter boots rental around the area? Thank you!
@cherrywanders30672 ай бұрын
Hi! I’m not sure if there are any shops in the area that rent winter boots, but it’s advisable to wear your own. It can get quite cold, and the hilly section at the end of the hike might be slippery.

Hello. Thanks for the video. Did you find it a challenging hike? I plan to visit the shrines in January 2025, but was told it was dangerous because of the snow. However, in your video you made it look easy!
@cherrywanders30672 ай бұрын
Hi! The hike to Togakushi shrine is relatively easy and takes about two hours round trip. Just make sure to wear appropriate winter clothing to stay warm and winter boots, as some areas may be slippery.

Hello, do you think I have enough time to visit the monkey park and Togakushi Shrine in a single day?
@cherrywanders3067Ай бұрын
Hi! Togakushi Shrine and Snow Monkey Park are located in opposite directions, making it challenging to visit both using public transport without careful planning. Train and bus schedules are infrequent, and in winter, buses to Togakushi Shrine are rerouted, requiring a one-hour hike to reach the shrine. For Snow Monkey Park, there is a direct bus, but tickets can only be purchased on the day of travel at Nagano Station. If you can rent and drive a car, visiting both destinations in a single day becomes much more feasible.

Hi, I'm planning to go to Japan in Feb 2025. Would you mind sharing the most picturesque Japan winter destination that you've been to (near Tokyo)? I'm into landscape 😊 Thank you in advance!!
@mayonnaise00774 ай бұрын
there isn't much of a picturesque winter landscape near Tokyo, you need to go to the countryside, like Nagano, as shown in the video. My recommendation if you're planning to visit Nagano is to stop by Obasute Station. It's an overlooking station with views of rice terraces but in winter they look somewhat magical

@@faizalabizar4477 Togakushi has more snow than the Nagano city area, so it's recommended to wear snowshoes. However, if you can tolerate the cold, sneakers can also work.

Hi, werent there any buses going to the upper shrine / main shrine?
@cherrywanders30672 ай бұрын
Hello! 👋 The bus takes a different route in winter and doesn’t go directly to the shrine. Instead, you’ll need to get off at Togakushi-Jinja 中社 and walk for about an hour to reach Togakushi Shrine Okusha (Main Shrine) Zuishinmon 戸隠神社 奥社 随神門.
@v06586 ай бұрын
if I go there in early december, is it already snow at there?
@cherrywanders30676 ай бұрын
Hello! 👋 By early December, Togakushi Shrine is likely to have some snow, but the amount can vary from year to year. While the higher elevations in the region tend to get snow earlier, consistent and significant snowfall might not occur until later in the month. For the best snow experience, plan your visit between late December and February.

Hi! I took the local bus at 7:00 am, which takes about an hour to reach the Togakushi Chusha stop. From there, you'll need to walk for another hour to reach Togakushi Shrine, as the bus route is altered during the winter season.
