The hike from Batavia to Escarpment was so easy, but then the steep ascent to Blackhead was brutal. The loop back down the other way was much better, though the switchback felt like an eternity.

Quite a hike. Pretty steep. Views up top are great though.

Love these videos. Has my first Catskill trip last month and really enjoyed Hunter mountain fire tower and the Burroughs range, but it looks like this may be my next target

hiking poles would have been useful for us when we hiked becker hollow a few months ago in November there were streams of water coming down the mountain and icy at the top

Batavia => Baa-taye-via, and Cairo is pronounced C-air-oh not C-i-ro as in Egypt. Local pronunciation but then they may have been replace by the new residents.

Good to know! Thank you for explaining the proper pronunciation

Another great video I notice you guys were using a camelbak backpack looks like the fourteener what can you tell me about it and its features I am looking for a really good day pack from camelbak
@UnboringExploring6 жыл бұрын
Hey Lenny! My husband, Marek has the fourteener and likes it a lot, though says it can be a bit cumbersome with its added support straps. I use the Helena 22 which is great for a day pack - plenty of room for gear and quite supportive, not to mention durable. They last years (as they should)! I'd highly recommend them, either way :)

Hiked down to Indian Garden today on the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon. Beautiful, But it kicked my ass hiking back up and out. Saw some desert bighorn sheep and mule deer by the trail...
