Couldn't have asked for better weather for most of the trip. After I got home the rain finally hit so I was just in time.

Once I get a little more efficient with pack weight and some more experience I'd like to push for a 50 mile trip (4-6 nights depending on terrain). 30 miles is the longest trip I've done so far, so I'd like to slowly push that further and further. Even more important than trimming down pack weight, I'll need to trim down some body weight as well! I plan to track the progress from 3XL to XL (then the channel name will be accurate)

If anyone hikes that trail in summer you have to take A LOT of water a family of 3 with there dog died there a few years ago from dehydration in an area where the road is way up above the river it was over 100 degrees that day look it up it was horrible things to happen, you probably walked right over the area they were in, those canyons get SUPER HOT that entire area is sweltering in summer. huge amounts of gold where found at hites mine lots of gold in the river too but not easy to get too lol there are also black bear so take spray or gun or both lol BTW get little videos you inspired me to get my butt going. Im a lot little older then you but i am gonna get up there to do that hike down towards bagby not quite so far since I have a destination in mind I want to do some things at , thanks for the videos I did a lot of stuff up in Sqaws Leap too of the SJ gorge but that was long ago to big of a hike for me now to go down and back up to the river but i'll check that video out too .

Yes, that is a real tragedy about what happened to that family. It didn’t feel right to include their tragic story in my video. The small community I’m from has been hurt enough from what happened to them. From what I know they were on the opposite side of the river on their way back up to Jerseydale. Apparently that hike is a real son of a gun, especially during summer. Thank for watching my videos and I’ll have another up by the end of the week, if things go to plan
