Crazy how difficult it can be in the winter. I took a road trip to a wedding in GA in July 2020. Since it was early months of the pandemic, road tripping was great with not many people traveling. Got to drive up to Clingmans Dome in the middle of summer with only a handful of people there. Gorgeous vistas at the summit!

Great day for a hike. Not many hikers on the trail 😎 Stunning views. Hot coca and trail mix would be a pick for a snack during winter. Here in the Pacific Northwest not so much cold weather at sea level but I've had days of -25C where I went cross-country skiing in the Rocky Mountains, that was pushing the limits of comfort. As long as you are on the move, it keeps a body warm. Thanks for sharing Alice. Love the hat! 🏔☯️🇨🇦👍

That was the fastest 10 minutes ever. I can definitely relate to questioning why I’m in snowshoes or boots when I really should be on XC skis (because I don’t own any, yet!). Even with the freezing temperatures, I don’t know how you made it 6+ miles uphill in several inches of snow in that heavy looking coat. I would have been MELTING inside…Unless, of course, the wind was blowing the whole time. And eating snow for water? On every hike with fresh snow available. Less to carry! And as much as I like to step in the tracks of others, it’s always kind of cool knowing you’re the only one that’s been there is a while. Or at least since the last decent snowfall. I can also relate to the giddy feeling of being able to hike again after injury (achilles tendon surgeries) and how amazing it feels to be out there again. But, also kind of scary. That somersault was impressive! You’re obviously healing up well. Thank you for the uplifting video, Alice

Thanks for your comment. It was a difficult slog, if it hadn’t been so hard to make my own tracks I would have stayed off the footsteps but I don’t know if I would have made it.
