Wanted to thank you for helping us create our bucket list of which Nat'l Parks we want to see when we start RVing (hopefully next year)... The park ranger doing the tour for the missile base really needs to be recognized by the park services if he hasn't been. He did IMO a fantastic job with the tour - he had a great presentation of the information.

@@NewstateNomads I don’t know if you got your answer yet, but there are comment forms. Usually visitor centers and entrance stations have them and you can fill them out at the park, or mail them in later. Comments forms are taken extremely seriously. Usually they go straight to supervisors. At Everglades our superintendent read all of them at their bi-weekly meeting.

You were able to secure np video permit? What's the cost for that? Does it apply to all np's? Great adventure.
@NewstateNomads Жыл бұрын
Mark, thanks so much and great question! We are securing permits at all 51 NPs along our route this year. The cost and process varies by park, so you have to check each park website. Several have actually indicated after we applied that no permit would be needed for our filming activity, but the application serves as a notification system for the park staff to know what are where you plan to film at the park. Lots of planning and preparation for a tour of this magnitude! 👍 -Howard

Really enjoyed your video. I am hoping you can do a separate video on your process to get a filming permit for this location. Loved the content but a video of our experience is not something we can easily share anymore without following the rules imposed by the National Parks. 😞
@1MillionMileRoadTrip Жыл бұрын
Great video, Too bad about the permit required for filming at all National Parks they are now enforcing.
@NewstateNomads Жыл бұрын
It's true the rules around filming in the NP have changed, but it's worth pointing out that several parks after we applied sent back a "based on your planned activities, no permit is necessary" and we weren't charged. We're actively planning, sending or receiving about a dozen permits as we speak, and it does get easier the more that you complete. Very few are willing to punish themselves by trying to do all of them in a single year, of course. 🤣
@airstreamer Жыл бұрын
@@NewstateNomads did you need to pay the filing fees? The $90-$300 filing fees are pretty restrictive for smaller content creators.
@NewstateNomads Жыл бұрын
@@airstreamer Everglades reviewed our application and responded that our activity did not require a permit (therefore no fee required either) and to "enjoy the park!" They still made the rangers aware of where and when we were filming, which was actually very helpful. It's certainly a park by park basis. My recommendation would be to reach out and apply with as much detail as early as possible. Most we've applied for thus far do not even ask for payment until they have had a chance to review your request. Hope that helps give a little insight into the process! -Katelyn

I love that you partnered with the National Parks this year (I'm assuming this based on the Winnebago special edition and the fact that you are able to film in the parks). And, I admire the people who dedicate their careers to being national park rangers. But, to be honest this video was a little too much park ranger presentations and not enough Katelyn and Howard adventures. I still love you guys, I'm just hoping future videos are more balanced.
@NewstateNomads Жыл бұрын
Katrina, thanks and that is great feedback! We were astounded with the ranger tours and presentations, but agree there should always be balance. The challenge is how do you leave out stories of the Nike Missiles or film even more at the parks to balance it out when on a pretty tight schedule to reach all the parks this year? We will try our best though, moving forward. 👍 -Howard
@davidwheeler7503 Жыл бұрын
You have to question why we, as U.S. citizens, allow for this no filming in National Parks rule to stand. We, U.S. citizens, pay every dime that fund these parks. Maybe it's time for us citizens to start charging all the National Park employees for allowing them to make money for working at them. It's time to stand up to our out of control taxing government and take our country away from their control. Time to Stand up people!!

Hope you guys are not monotized, its now Illegal to video National parks if you are Monotized. I dont agree with it at at all but for now thats the law being enforced sadly.
@NewstateNomads Жыл бұрын
We are monetized, and while the rules changed, it is still legal to film in the National Parks. There's a lot of confusion about the new rules, but we have had no problems getting a permit for the first batch of parks on our tour. 👍 -Howard
@frankm3560 Жыл бұрын
Being monotized is irrelevant since KZbin’s terms of service states they can monotize your content at any time for any reason instantly making any KZbinr monotized at any unknown point. Therefore no KZbinr ever can film in a national park since the appeal upheld the reversal of Price vs Barr on April 16, 2022. Since these people state they got the necessary permits, this is also not an illegal video. Permits are a pain, but they are a way to stay legal and keep posting.
