Tour du Mont Blanc - Day 4 | Finally crossing into Switzerland!
Welcome to Day 4 of this epic Tour du Mont Blanc adventure! Today was a challenging but rewarding day as I finally crossed the border from Italy into Switzerland. Really pushed hard, hiking a whopping 38km, and reached the highest point of the trail at 2,539 meters-the Grand Col Ferret! The views were outstanding in Switzerland however clagged in at the highest point....it didn't detract from the epic day.
This was one of the most demanding days of the trek, but the sense of accomplishment at the end of the day was amazing knowing I'd literally walked though Italy in about 24hrs. Join me as I take on steep ascents, rugged terrain, and stunning alpine vistas on this incredible leg of the journey.
If you’ve been enjoying the adventure so far, don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more hikes and vlogs. Stay tuned for the finale tomorrow on Day 5!

What a amazing place, great video as always Kris. Feel your pain with your shoulders, don't know why but my left shoulder is always the first thing to suffer on any bimbles. Many thanks for taking us along ❤.

Honestly the bag was ace but literally my traps were swollen. As I went for a 35L super light pack the thing I missed on it and made a massive difference was no load lifters. Big mistake. Just having load lifters on the straps would’ve eliminated that. I might even contact Atom Packs and see if there’s a way for me to pay and add them on to it as this pack by default doesn’t have them.

Such wonderful views in this episode. Chasing the lads down the hill 😂. Did you manage to soak the feet in that stunning lake at the end. Great effort.

@@paulmartin7874 Thanks Paul. My biggest regret from this was not taking a dip in the water. I should’ve done at the time but wanted to make sure there was a space at the campsite. The site was probably 10-15 mins walk away from the water and as my feet were aching I didn’t have the heart to walk back and just chilled so missed out. Definitely somewhere I’ll return to one day.

Cheers Andrew. I know they’re a little rushed the vids however I was there for the hiking and to really take it all in but obviously wanted to catch what I could for memories so hopefully come across okay.

I really recommend it but definitely at your own pace. I only had the drive to push as I’ve really missed the hiking as struggled for a while to get out properly plus I had the Apex Challenge event literally straight after this so wanted to get back a little earlier to get a couple of days rest before the next challenge.

Hey Kris, this was another great video of an epic adventure. I know I would so enjoy doing that hike, but it would take me a lot longer😂😂😂. Im sorry some of these people are giving you grief about how things happened. There is no need for all these guilt trips. These guys weren't there and have no clue why things happened as they did. they should have the facts before running they're mouth. Dwayne
@krisgleave
@krisgleave 5 сағат бұрын
Thanks Dwayne. This trip is ace and can easily take your time on it. Most people book the Refugios in advance as there are lots along the way so you have a set distance to walk and doesn’t have to be too far. That’s probably the way to go however I don’t like to know i have to be at a certain point I’d rather just walk and stop when I want.

Poor Danny. He must have been so pissed off. Why did he go with you if not to enjoy the trip together? I wouldn’t ever leave a mate behind no matter what the circumstances. Maybe that’s just me
@krisgleave
@krisgleave 17 сағат бұрын
I didn’t leave him behind. He decided to stop at 4pm the previous day and stop early which was fine. As I mentioned in the comments on the last video, I tagged on this trip just 5-6 weeks before and we agreed to walk at our own pace and always met up again. So nobody left anyone behind.

Loving these videos getting me excited for next sept when I do it. I wanted to ask I just got myself a gopro 12. What software do you use for the video editing is it quik? And if so is it any good? Cheers 👍 keep up the good content aswell

@@krisgleave I get it. Just not my style of hiking holidays. Love the videos but each day Danny walked totally alone, that’s what I don’t get. I did Everest Base camp with 3 mates and I waited every 20 minutes to enjoy the experience together. I would have been pissed off if my mates hiking pole broke and he waited for me so he could use my spare one and the second I bought a new one. Bang see ya !!

@@rokesguitarchannel7830 Thank you and great question. The GoPro 12 is a great camera to use so you chose well. Before using the Action 4 I used the GoPro 11 for many vlogs. Quality and resolution is really good. I actually edit with Final Cut Pro as I’m a Mac user. However you can use any apps…which ever you’re more comfortable with. Haven’t used the Quik app so not sure what it’s like. Think it can auto edit some shorter clips for you too…you might have to give it a try. CapCut is really good and that’s free and on all platforms for computer and phones and lots of videos online telling you how to use it so could be a good shout.

@@ChrisBentley_lives_for_camping We always walked at our own pace. We both do long distance hikes in the UK separately so both familiar with these hikes and distances. Each day we did meet together lots of times throughout the day so always waited at sections as you’ll see from the videos but obviously lots of times too not on camera as I didn’t film or include all edits as these are just short clips from the trip.

That’s on my bucket list I’d love to do that…when you doing it? I’m obsessed with Everest I’d love to experiences the base camp experience. At those altitudes you go really slowly so you’ll be absolutely fine it’s nothing like this. I did Kilimanjaro back in 2009 and the same thing as that’s 5,849M (19,190ft)
