Hiking in Belcarra Regional Park

Come along as we hike the Admiralty Point Trail in beautiful Belcarra Regional Park. Since we were there in September 2021 the park changed its name to təmtəmíxʷtən, which means “the biggest place for all the people” in the Indigenous language of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
Belcarra Regional Park located about an hour from downtown Vancouver and just northwest of Port Moody. It’s home to forests, hiking trails and Sasamat Lake.
The Admiralty Point Trail is a 5.3 out and back trail follows along the south end of the park and has views of Burrard Inlet and Deep Cove. To get some extra cardio in we decided to return via one of the intersecting trails that makes it way up Belcarra Mountain.

British Columbia is such a beautiful province! It looks like this park is no exception with the lush greenery, the moss on the trees and huge ferns - so pretty. The waterfront area looked like a spot I'd want to visit. Seems like it was a great day for a hike - and the new name of the park seems fitting!

Love that dock going out into the lake! The trails looked really well maintained but a little rough at time too. What a day for a hike.that lake is huge! Thanks! It is actually not a lake it is an inlet from the ocean. My wife worries more about the bears than I do. We have only ever actually come across a bear once when hiking. In general they try and stay from just as much as you try and stay away from them.

@@HTEtravel Yes.. In komodo Island and it was really amazing. It's one recommended place for you to visit. Really challanging and of course it's hot there.

@@GaolFamily I will have to look into Komodo Island. I have only been on Batam Island in Indonesia. I really enjoyed it there. I took a taxi to a beach that really had only a few locals on, so it was even nicer.

@@HTEtravel Batam is in sumatera island. I guess you are from singapore take ferry for a short break? I had worked in singapore for 8 years so Batam also my favourite place to take short brake. But me also originally from sumatera island, north sumatera Komodo island is in east part of indonesia. You can come from jakarta or bali. It’s better to go there. Been there once and it’s amazing journey.. next time if you want to come to indonesia.. let us know.. I think will be nice travel in group..

A beautiful Bay. This is just outside of Vancouver right? The forest is gorgeous. So lush. The coastline kinda reminds me of Maine. More rocky shore than sand beaches. The hiking trails look well kept. Beautiful forest to walk through. The fog makes it so atmospheric. Awesome video.

Yes, it's about an hour's drive from Vancouver. The trails were definitely in great shape. BC does an awesome job of maintaining their trails.
