Really interesting way of life these nomadic families live. You could say they take camping to the next level. I was feeling sorry for you in that cold weather Cynthia. It looked pretty brutal!
@journalofnomads6 жыл бұрын
Oh it was super duper cold!! Hahaha wet clothes + snow and high altitude is never a good combination 😅

So cool that you were involved in mapping hiking trails, what an amazing experience! I always wondered who paints the arrows onto trails like that. The landscapes look incredible, even in the crazy weather. Always amazing to see how welcoming and friendly the locals are in Kyrgyzstan too!

We feel really lucky we had the chance to participate in mapping and marking these trails but the weather was definitely a surprise!!!! 😂

what an amazing experience you guys are having :D! shame it rain - i hate it when you vlog and it rains! for me its just so hard because i got bags of camera gear dang!
@journalofnomads6 жыл бұрын
Yeah rain can really damage the gear, luckily some of our cameras are weather sealed so that helps 😅

Oh thanks for watching and thanks again for the kind words Stephen, we really try to show the reality of our travels with the ups and downs. We don't want to romanticize what we go through like so many other travel channels do.

Great! So nice to see Cynthia in front of the camera this much!! You did a great job and we love how raw and honest this video is. We know that the weather in Kyrgyzstan can quickly change, and especially at those altitudes. We also know how it is to not have the right gear trekking and camping on higher altitudes, so well done for staying strong through out the whole trek. Must have been an amazing feeling knowing that no one has done this trek before. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for sharing! 💙😀🙏

Oh my goodness. Those bright green mountains! So breathtaking. With the horses and the rain, it looks like something out of a movie! So beautiful... And those children warmed our hearts. Honestly I felt (Maya) cold just looking at you!! Just imagining being completely soaked and cold while trekking.. Wow. But I agree that these sorts of challenges make it even more memorable in a way and it's totally worth it.

The kids were so so sweet and cute! Aaah I feel such a wave of nostalgia for Kyrgyzstan right now. It's a country that really changed us in a way that no other country has done before. I was so unprepared for the cold rain and snow in the middle of summer! We could say that it's the last thing I was expecting!!

Is it cold everywhere in June? I was planning on being there in March, but not so sure now!!!
@journalofnomads6 жыл бұрын
It was actually really hot in June but there is always still a bit of the occasional snowfall in very high mountains at that time of the year. March however should still be a bit cold, especially in higher altitudes, make sure you bring some warm clothes! 😉

First thing I noticed is that we used the same font for our videos lol, but anyway, nice video. Really cool, I haven't seen anything about Kyrgyzstan previously, but have been hearing a few people going recently. Your video is so clear!! What camera is this? I also like the fact that you had a theme/ story in the video, besdies just talking about the hike.
@journalofnomads6 жыл бұрын
Oh it's so true we do use the same font! Actually we see more and more people using that font, it is visually really pleasing. Kyrgyzstan is truly a beautiful destination, it's a pity that not more people talk about it, but it will become more and more known with time. The camera used in this video is the Lumix G9, it really captures a lot of details.Thanks for watching :)
