We have had a couple of very pleasant overnight stays at Broadoaks Country House in Troutbeck, always intended to do a couple of hikes but bad weather and a fantastic room stopped us each time. Great views over Windermere and a nice dry day for you both, for a change. Loved the ridge walk over to Ill Bell and the drone footage as well and that is one I must do, it looked brilliant. We drove through Troutbeck village before but I could not remember a car park, I must have been daydreaming, cheers Alan

One our first camps together was at Limefit Park in 1979 when we did some of this walk almost by mistake 😄 The campsite was a very basic field in the hillside with painted lines on the grass to Mark the pitches. We really need to go back to the lakes. Maybe next year would be a good time. 👍🏻🚐 Trev
