@@YongsungKim Yes! There is old saying in Chinese, "you're always overlooking another cool mountain at where you're standing." similar like "the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence."

Thank you. It was a crazy windy day. Fortunately, however, we were not affected much as Lyell provided protection from the wind.

@@YongsungKim i was there Aug 24&25, and the wind was so strong that night I feared my tent would implode! While the wind died down a bit the next day, I had little sleep the night before and did not attempt a summit.

Awesome hike!! snow's not going away this year, looks like you are getting to be real experts at it... //we did not have great luck in Lyell canyon this week, it rained first 2 days and we were getting sick, by the time weather got better we were sore and sick from being in the tent for 2 days and just walked back out but we did get to be there and it was beautiful// thanks for taking us with you on your more successful trip!

Lakes still frozen at the end of July ^^ . Nice, wish we'd get about 10 winters about like last year. Trying to remember the last time I was across Donahue. I guess it was about 2000, With my daughter and her future husband (he returned to Germany, taking her with in '21). We entered at the trailhead below Mammoth (cannot remember the name, grrr). Met up with more Germans and others at Tuolumne, and continued across Vogelsang (Bird Song) pass. 4 of the 7 of us, including 3 of the Europeans, summited Half Dome (I have a fear of heights, chickened out early), camped overnight, continued into the valley. Another great post, thanks!

Great video, and such a beautiful trip (as always). I wonder how many permits do you need to do a trip like this. Do you need one from Inyo, and one from Yosemite to camp in Yosemite? If so, which permits would you need? Thanks for the video, and good luck on your future adventures!
@YongsungKim
@YongsungKim Жыл бұрын
The permit is required only for the starting point. You can hike anywhere with a single permit across Inyo and national parks.

wow amazing as always. was the class three section harder coming down? Did you have to down climb or could you scootch down ledge to ledge?
@YongsungKim

Fortunately, we found an easier route on our way down. It was fairly straightforward, and we were able to descend much more quickly than we could ascend.
