Hiking Nelson Ledges State Park - Caves - Waterfalls - Crevices - Nelson, Ohio

Had a wonderful time hiking around Nelson Ledges State Park with my Brother and Nephew and spent a few hours going around to all the nooks and crannies and caves and crevices all around the area and even a few water falls. Very beautiful area with lots to see but can be very dangerous for kids and adults. Lot's to trip over or fall over so watch where your stepping and you will have a great experience visiting this great park.
My Brother and I grew up going to this park over 30 years ago so we knew going in what to expect. But, since we haven't been there in some time we didn't know how it may have changed.. Didn't change much but there were thing missing like signage that they had before. The trails are marked by colored spray paint but sometimes it was hard to follow (especially for new comers). We just walked around ourselves knowing what we wanted to see.

Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park is a 167-acre (68 ha) public recreation area offering trails and picnicking located in Nelson Township, Portage County, Ohio, United States. Within the park are angled rock formations 50 to 60 feet (18 m) high with ground fissures as deep as 60 feet (18 m). It is accessible from U.S. Route 422 and State Route 305 via State Route 282.
With its rugged cliffs, waterfalls, and natural landscape, Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park provides a thrilling experience for visitors of all ages. The park's spectacular rock formations are among the few in northern Ohio still exposed to view. Hikers will enjoy trails that take them to formations like Devil's Icebox, Indian Pass, and Old Maid's Kitchen. Visitors are reminded to exercise caution and stay on the trails at all times.
Park Hours: One half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset. Visitors are permitted to actively engage in legitimate recreational activities outside these hours. If you have questions, call the park office.

It’s very cool when you in the caves and crevices but when you come out it was hot and humid.. all fun though. Thanks for stopping by..
