Thanks for sharing the petroglyphs. Interesting how the hand print was common in many sites around the world.

You're welcome! 😊 I'm just beginning to see Petroglyphs since I moved from two years ago. My personal theory is that hands are easy to draw since we can trace them from our own. Like when we were kids, we draw hands by tracing our own on a piece of paper. What other sites do you know out of the country that I could search and read? I'm kinda obsessed with different kinds of history right now 😆

@@sunkissedmary Two excellent books, the first a bit more relevant is, Wisdom Sits in Places: Landscape and Language Among the Western Apache (Basso) and The First Signs: Unlocking the Mysteries of the World's Oldest Symbols (Genevieve von Petzinger). Since you hike a lot around the Southwest, the first is best. Place names are given not as just a place, but what happened at the place and the teaching the name inspires. The second book is mostly about cave art in Europe, but goes over the evolution of meaning in symbols.

@ranradd Thank you soooo much! You are right. The first book is relevant since I explore mostly southwest. I love this area! I checked it out, and they have audible, which is perfect for road trips.
