Great video guys! Out of curiosity, now that you've gone through Guatemala and El Salvador do you somehow feel like you're still in Mexico? Or are the vibes much different?

Great question!! There are similarities but food wise it's very different. The people are just as nice (maybe even nicer in El Salvador 🇸🇻 😝) overall, the whole of Central America so far has been AMAZING!!

The crater of this mountain is similar to Mount Ijen in Indonesia, which is blue in color. but the difference is Mount Ijen in Indonesia, the crater is not too deep so we can go down to see, and if we want to climb Mount Ijen it has to be in the middle of the night to see the sunrise.

what's the elevation change in the hike? I'm not very fit and I'm wondering if i could still go. is it a loop or out and back?
@MaxandJacqueline
@MaxandJacqueline 2 ай бұрын
Hey, anyone can do the hike, just go slow if you’re not as fit, it was very doable though for any level. Elevation gain is 473m and it’s out and back. Check it out on All Trails: www.alltrails.com/trail/el-salvador/santa-ana/volcan-de-santa-ana

@MaxandJacqueline
@MaxandJacqueline Жыл бұрын
Tell me about it 😂 I’m not really sure what time the “first hike starts” there were other people at the top before us but they may have been on a tour? The first bus leaves at 7:30 and I’m assuming the guides are just there when the bus arrives, it takes 2 hours to get there. Hope that helps 🧡

The volcano lake looked amazing, the color, wow 😲👍, did your legs hurt next day? I would like to visit, did you have any issue with the police or soldiers surveillance? Do they ask for documents to tourists? Did the food make you sick? Thanks for the video, I liked, greetings 👋

It was stunning 👌 no sore legs it’s quite a short hike really. There were police near the top and we spoke to them, they said they’re there every day and we’re very friendly. We didn’t have to show any documents and no the food in El Salvador has not made us sick 😅 hope that’s helpful 🫶

@@MaxandJacqueline I'm back! It was raining a week before i arrived and after 4 days i arrived, it rained for 5 days, so I had to chg my plans twice. Next time I go i will uber more, and maybe buy a tour. The best food was in the northern beaches. I took public buses from Airport to Juayua and from Santa Ana to the playas and then el zonte to suchitoto. the congestion in the capitalis outrageous. i highly suggest to folks to uber and consider renting a tour or two! or get a rental (i was by myself and don't speak spanish well and didn't want to drive solo). When the weather was better i stayed a night at the foot of the volcano but it was frigid. Blankets weren't provided. Only flimsy fleece that we would use in western countries as a throw over our lap. The next am, most of the folks (Latino Americans told me they demanded blankets and were charged $1 each not sure how warm they were, but i never t hought of that. i slept with my icebreaker merino top and fleece jacket, which thankfully i had.) i ended up joining a family and pitched in for the private tour ($35/per group) . We went very slowly as one of the fam members had back issues. Tour guide went very slowly as we stopped too many times (at each viewpoint, and to explain flora and fauna, which all in spanish i didn't understand). the day of my hike was SUPER busy due to the 5 days of rain previously and also the day or two prior wind was very bad so they had to close the top 2 viewpoints, which means the folks who went on those days weren't ablet to see the crater and lake. But on our day, we did!

Public transportation for tourist is the WORST in El Salvador, mainly because here that means you are "poor" and it's designed to be as affordable as possible, most local tourist will get there by car or other private transportation, so the bus is sadly the worst experience you can have
@MaxandJacqueline
@MaxandJacqueline Жыл бұрын
That makes sense! The buses are not that bad to be fair, that particular one was extremely loud and after almost 2 hours I was over it 😅 but we’ve caught quite a few now in Central America and they’re alright!

Ee-Lu-mu-tE-pek Gee, at least hear what the guide tell you, they always tell you the right name. Also, for your tourists, careful with the last part, lost of rocks and a few are loose and DON'T drink water or eat before going up! You'll regret it if you do!
