It is INEXCUSABLE that you guys don't have a show on PBS or Netflix or Discovery Channel or something!!! The product you're creating is SO much better than 95 percent of what's being aired. We should start a petition to make that happen!

the Alum Caves trail up to Le Conte was my grandfather's favorite hike. He'd hike it up, have a snack while looking at the view, and then right back down the same day. The last time he hiked it was on his 89th birthday. He so badly wanted to make it on his 90th, but sadly he was too ill at that point. If he were alive today he'd be over 100, and I'm sure he'd still be talking about wanting to get back on this trail; it was his absolute favorite place to be.

I watched most of your videos a couple of times already at least each one once ^^. Your videos are my most favorite ones on YT and at least my way to enjoy nature if I can't enjoy it directly right now as much as I would like to. Thank you for doing what you are doing. I guess I am not only talking for myself but what you do is special to so many of us. Keep up the amazing work. Cheers from Vienna~

Thomas makes Andrew the best cup of coffee you can have on the trail, fresh ground beans and run through an Aero Press, and Andrew is like, "It's good." Like, it is just a little better than instant. I have seen Andrew drink fungus tea and say "It's good" with as much enthusiasm. I no longer trust Andrew's taste buds, lol. I enjoy the ritual of making a fine cup of coffee too Thomas. Next time maybe try BRCC Just Black coffee. If Andrew does not groan with pleasure with that cup, he has been replaced by an alien and you must find and rescue the real Andrew.

I stopped using the Areo press because it is so hard to press!!! And you have to use good beans to begin with! Also, I see Thomas is a good friend of Andrew but I have Never seen Him as one of the Boy's!!!
@jt_on_youtube
@jt_on_youtube 2 жыл бұрын
The beans looked shit, if you have fancy tools and shitty beans then you'll have shitty coffee, it's all about the beans, hence why Andrew probably didn't enjoy it as much. Get some bomb beans first if you're going to go through that much trouble.

These guys have the best cinematography and content in the hiking community. All of these episodes accentuate what being outside is truly about. As huge fan of Henry David Thoreau myself, it's really a treat to hear AA quote him. These videos serve to inspire people to get outside and you're doing a great job!

Seeing the thru hiker bubble at the shelter made me nostalgic and reminded me of my attempted thru hike I did ten years ago. I stayed at that same shelter around the same time of year and had the exact same kind of weather until the next day... My hiking buddy and I got an early start in the rain. By the time we reached Charlie’s Bunion the rain turned to sleet and by the time lunch rolled around the sleet turned into white out snowy conditions. It was getting dangerous so we stopped at Cosby Knob Shelter, short of our desired destination, around 2pm. We were the only hikers at the shelter and we both passed out from exhaustion until around 6pm when we were awakened by a folksy guy smoking a pipe, playing a wonderful original song on his guitar. We looked around and the shelter was PACKED, nobody wanted to stay in a tent in those weather conditions, but we didn’t mind at all because nothing beats the camaraderie of thru hikers and that song on that guitar was the first music we had heard since the start of our hike a few weeks back (neither of us carried ipods and this was before smartphones). The next day we had learned that someone ahead of us on the trail had died overnight which humbled us even more than the snow did the previous day. Our spirits weren’t too dampened though because by the time we exited the official park boundaries and got to Standing Bear Hostel it was 70 degrees and the snow had all melted away. Talk about crazy weather! I saw the guitar player a few more times in the months following those few days and I always asked him to play that song he played on that snowy night in the shelter, and since I had no other music to listen to I memorized that song the best I could and would always sing it to myself while walking down the trail. Nowadays I play live acoustic music around town and I cover a version of that song the best I could remember it. Every time I play it I’m reminded of that magical time I had on the trail, specifically that snowy night in the Smokies. Thank you guitar playing guy wherever you are. I think your trail name was “Red Beard” or something. My trail name was “Gump” if any of you 2011 people see this and remember me.

Sooo this is my first ever KZbin comment on any video, and I figured that if I’m going to finally get off my butt and start letting the content creators I regularly watch know that I value their content, I’d start with you guys. What started as “find something relaxing and boring to fall asleep to” turned into “this is much too captivating, now I must watch the entire thing” very early on. And here we are years later, still constantly checking to see when the newest video will be released. You guys are so relatable and great at what you do. You’ve inspired me to start creating my own content because I don’t see enough people that look like me creating the kind of content I like to watch. Just wanted to say thanks for doing what you’re doing in the way you’re doing it. You guys are awesome.
