Your video was a lot of fun to watch. I also hiked the Primitivo in May for the second time (2023 as well) so watching made me feel like I was still there walking. You were lucky on the Hospitales as it was covered in heavy cloud on both of my hikes. Thanks for the memories.

Congratulation!!! Great video. Santiago de Compostela is always in my dream since 15 years ago. The journey I really want to do it before my end. I'm in my mid sixty and I have to do it, before too old and couldn't walk anymore. I plan to do it in 2026, if there is no such thing up front. I'm going the Camino Primitivo also. Your video really made my spirit up. Thank you for sharing this wonderful journey. 🙏♥

Very good video, showing the beauty and tranquility of the Primitivo very well. And .... without mindless commentary from wise nosed Americans. Top marks for doing the Hospitales route. That's the toughest stage of all camino's.

Must have just missed you on the primativo. Left Oviedo on the 20th of May. I remember all the mud and rain on the first 3 days. That dog was friendly. There were lots of ppl from all over. AU ussie here, NZds and even a guy from Norway taking a 20kg pack.

Ah yes we must have just been a day or two behind you. By the sounds of things we were lucky because we hit the road just as the rain stopped. Thanks for your comment.

Great video! I am doing the Primitivo on August and I'm not sure if I will go on public or private albergues. How crowded did you find the Camino?
@robinfrench19145 ай бұрын
@@stroke6234 hey there, that’s great you’ll have such a good time. In May/early June it was quite busy but never felt crowded. We always stayed in municipal albergues. It never felt like there was a ‘bed race’ - though they did fill up as the day went on. If you walk at an average pace you shouldn’t have a problem finding a bed in the municipals. If you’re slower maybe booking can give you some peace of mind. I think though you’d be very unlucky if you turn up in a town and couldn’t find a bed anywhere - if the municipal is full there will almost certainly be other albergues with space. Worse comes to worse you could jump in a taxi somewhere where there is space. I love the public albergues because it feels authentic - and I met lots of interesting people. I also like the flexibility that comes from not booking - you just go with the flow. When you arrive on the Primitivo and you’re actually on the ground I think you’ll quickly be able to gauge what works best for you. It’s hard to imagine when you’re at home planning, but when you’re there in person, it’ll all fall into place. Buen Camino!
