Hiking The Fiddlehead Falls Loop - Lost Corner Area / North of Atkins. Includes TOPO view

Fiddlehead Falls is a favorite fall for us, and one we've visited often - although even we neglect to hike on down the creek the short distance to see the other falls and pools down that way.

For just the the largest fall here, Fiddle Head Falls (FHF) - park by the trail head to then hike less than the 1/4 mile each way for it. Today, we parked 1/3rd mile further along Lindsey Motorway (same parking spot as the trail head for Green Grotto Falls), and where we planned on resurfacing from hiking a little further down below.
Our first ever visit here several years ago was one of many inspired by Rick's Blog, and stop by FHF whenever in the area. Today was the first time in a while that we'd ventured the whole loop though.
From our parking spot to the trailhead - a flat and easy 1/3rd mile along Lindsey Motorway. From there, it's less than a 1/4 mile down to FHF. The trail is a little steep and a little rocky, but the now well-trodden trail is very easy to follow. Cross the creek where you can to follow the trail on the other side and for the way down to the large fall.
First time visitors will be impressed with the view of the cascades just above that continue to flow on over the fall & huge pool & grotto down below. Perhaps even more so when the sun illuminates the watercolors into various emerald greens and blues. The stone furniture up in the grotto overhang today reminded me of why we don't venture downstream so much - it's so therapeutic at that spot alone.
The bushwhack to the lower falls is an easy one. Only 1/10th mile for Lower Fiddlehead & a further 1/10th for the third and final fall. You'll have to cross the creek a couple of times, but it isn't hard finding easy spots.
It's 1/3rd mile from the final fall back to where we parked, a straight uphill shot, but not quite as steep as the grade you hiked down to access FHF. All three falls here have pools plenty large and deep enough for Leeds to enjoy his swim time at each - as have I in the summer months.
Additional shout-out and plug for our new friends at the Circle H Store in Jerusalem - 20 mins away. What a place to grab breakfast before you go, and/or lunch for while you are on the go. Fantastic folks!!

*** YOUR GPS MAY TRY TO TAKE YOU IN FROM LYNDSEY MTWY AT THE INTERSECTION OF HWY 27. DON'T DO THAT UNLESS YOU HAVE A CAPABLE 4WD VEHICLE THAT CAN CROSS A COUPLE OF DECENT SIZED CREEKS! Also - LINDSEY MOTORWAY is not the best of roads for 2WD vehicles, having plenty of mud holes and other rough spots to navigate. Proceed with caution!
