107 degrees!! Ugh! Looks like a great place to go for cooler temps and beautiful scenery.Fascinating information about building the tram! -Michelle

Yes, it was crazy how quickly the temperature changed as the tram climbed. We both love heat but it was nice to get a break. Thanks for watching!

We did the tram in January 2022. We walked around the top, but no hiking. It was covered with snow.

A much different view and experience with snow! But still some pretty overlooks. Thanks for watching!

Ha! Great reference. I liked these types of places in California...the ones with fewer people! 😀 -Ari

I've been up here many times over the last 30 years. I went up when they still had the old cars. The cost has gotten out of control. Parking used to be free and the tram was less than $20. I've eaten at the restaurant once and it wasn't that great for the price. These days I just hike up the Devil's Slide trail from Idyllwild.

It's a unique experience, but the price was quite high. Food would probably have tasted better if it wasn't so expensive. (We just grabbed a couple of slices of pizza.) Still for folks who can't make the hike up, this is the only option and at least the ride up is different. Thanks for watching and sharing your history with the place!

Packed from Paradise Valley Cafe to Idyllwild last week and was about 31k' of elevation gain the first 3 days and lost all that the 4th day.

@@Trekers I ended up climbing San Jacinto twice because of a schedule conflict, once from PVC and down Devil's Slide and once up DS and down to I-10 which was told is the steepest grade on the PVC but that is hearsay. Also, learned there's a fault beneath SJ after I googled why there was a moraine on the north side, bottom.
