Hiking the Staircase - Hoodsport Washington, Lake Cushman

A beautiful day to start the new year hiking season. I hike the Staircase in Hoodsport WA. Located just north of Lake Cushman. Its an easy hike with beautiful scenery along with roaring rivers, you'll cross a bridge at the halfway mark and move on through the moss covered forest. The hike is about three miles and is a very famous hike. You will learn how the staircase received its name as you pass by the signs. Getting there was challenging as you have to drive down a pot holed ridden road. Be sure to take your national forest pass as the parking fees are $30 per vehicle.
