That was a fantastic film!! I've watched a lot of YT vids on the TMB and this is the best of them all!! Why? Because you two are a joy to watch, Lauren's endless smiling and laughing face was so lovely! I'd love to go hiking with you two! And, your cinematography was the best of all the films I've watched too. I think most rely on GoPros and they don't give the best angles. I'm not sure what you were using but it looked like a DLSR with normal 35mm - 50mm focal lengths, and it makes such a huge difference. You gave endless vistas and panoramas that were stunning. And you also gave great commentary. I'm definitely doing this trek next summer. Thank you for making and posting this film. What a wonderful experience to share between father and daughter, you are so lucky to have that special bond.

Great to hear that you and your daughter are doing the same trek!!! You will LOVE IT! Our packs were about 15 pounds. We had microspikes (which you probably won’t need) along with our phones, batteries and charging cables, toiletries, first-aid packs, two extra shirts, shorts and socks, sweatpants, puffy jacket, rain gear, bed liners, gloves, winter hats, wallets, passports, snacks and drinks. Not having tents, sleeping bags, stoves and large amounts of food like other backpacking trips made a huge difference. Enjoy!!!

We started June 26th and finished July 5th. There wasn’t much snow at all. Just a few tricky spots. Varies every year though. Enjoy your trip in 2025. You’ll absolutely love it. Thanks for watching.

What camera did you use for your video. We’re planning to go next year and I want to film with something other than my phone. Loved your video and that you and your daughter went together.

I used my iPhone 12 Pro and turned it horizontally so the videos would have a landscape orientation rather than portrait orientation. It worked well for me and was very convenient to have on the front shoulder strap of my backpack so I could take videos easily. I am booked for July 2025, wow beautiful trek adventure. Were the trails marked good? The part where the cows blocked trail it was prior to la fouly, how did you get thru?

The trails were well marked but using an app as a map is really helpful. The cows were easy to walk around. They didn’t bother us. Have a great trek in 2025. You will love it!!!

This was really wonderful and helpful in helping my husband and I decide if the TMB is for us. Did you use an app like All Trails or something else? I noticed you got off track a few times and I wonder if it's easy to get lost

@@bakingrrl thank you so much. Glad it was helpful. We hope you decide to do it. We used the Komoot app. It was great. You really can’t get lost. We went slightly off course a couple of times due to user error but we were able to correct quickly. It’s awesome on the TMB.

The refugios were all open at the end of June 2024 but I believe it is weather dependent. You definitely should book your reservations ahead of time. Using a booking service makes it much easier to plan. Good luck!!
