Thanks for showing the travel from Glasgow to Milngavie to start off - I'm planning the same itinerary and it is comforting to see that is easy to navigate.

Thank you for sharing your WHW-Hike with us. Walked it last year in August/September. Seems we both have been very lucky with the weather.

It's really a lovely place, isn't it? And yes, some days the weather was amazing and some days... less amazing - but Scotland is beautiful in any weather!

As an Englishman who has walked the Way 9 times, its nice to see it from someone else's eyes. It makes me appreciate the little details I sometimes take for granted. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your very well made videos. 👍

9 times - that's amazing! I'm a bit jealous - I've only been home a couple of weeks and I'm trying to figure out how to get back to do it again!

Have done the WHW Both ways, 1st time was in 1985 The Weather started out fine but deteriorated as I went North, not many facility's in those days and the path was mostly mud in places, the last time I did it was 18 years ago and I was impressed with how far it had improved, the best advise is do what you did and not carry too much, bag forwarding services were good then and you can B&B every night if you plan carefully. Five times in total and would love to do it again, The weather was so bad the first time I abandoned at Kingshouse and made up for it the following year. The Midge's were something else. Repellent is a must during Midge season. Thanks for the great video you brought it all back as in those days I took pictures with a Film camera and the photo's are all gone, lost in time. Modern photography and moving pictures these days are fantastic. I will watch all of them.

1985 - that is amazing - it must have been so different than today! And 5 times total - wow. I would do it again tomorrow, too:) Glad you like the video!

Hi Donna, lovely production, brings it all back to me. I like the "relive flyover" thing, I must try to do that with my trip. Its Jon btw, we met at the start of day 2 and walked together a few times. As a solo hiker also on the WHW, I must say meeting people like you made the hike very enjoyable indeed :)
@SomeBoldAdventure2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon - Nice to hear from you! I was just thinking about you as I edited that LONG day along Loch Lomond.I like doing the videos because it gives me experience the hike a second time. It was so nice to walk with you!

Thank you these. Videos are fantastic. Can I ask what you used for navigation, just the waypoints or a map and compass or a GPX tracker map etc?
@SomeBoldAdventure Жыл бұрын
Glad you like them! I navigated mostly following the trail markers and the path. I did use the maps in this guidebook: amzn.to/3sUpO80 I love these maps - very descriptive - like a friend drew them for you more than an official topographical-style map. I scanned what I needed for each day into my phone to avoid carrying the entire book with me. I bought the more official OS map, but I think I only looked at it once. It wasn't really necessary: amzn.to/468j9oP The WHW is pretty easy to follow. I liked the guidebook because it gave a good idea of what I would encounter each day, plus I like to check in to be sure I'm on the right track.

Not yet, but soon! Normally a new one is out every Thursday but we had a holiday here last week so I skipped a week. Check back on Thursday Dec. 1 for the next one!

Did the way solo carrying all my gear about three weeks ago. Next time I might use a transfer company. Lol

I was glad I did - otherwise I probably would would have been ditching gear halfway up Conic Hill. 😂

Why would the signs display distances in km, we use miles here in the UK
@SomeBoldAdventure Жыл бұрын
That's the thing - I had no idea you used miles! Knowing the USA is one of the very few countries that uses imperial measurements, I expected metrics - I didn't know the UK had a hybrid thing going on. I'm considering it an educational trip because now I know:)

What is the name of the pizza place that delivers to Dryman campground

I don't know the name of it. There was a sign on the wall in the common area of the campground advertising it.

Do you know where you go at drymen as the road to it is blocked off from building?

I don't know - I'm not sure where you mean. I was at Drymen camping and didn't go to town, and everything there was open.
