Yes! Huts are def. on my to-indulge-in list but I know nothing about them. I stayed in youth hostels but not huts. Would be nice to know what's needed and what's provided, whether one can ever be turned away (no space available? is it possible?), is any pre-planning needed, etc.

@@OurSwissAdventure Saw a TV program few days ago showing huts... somewhere (tuned in late) and they mentioned an oddly unexpected thing: on some trails, as you hike from hut N to hut N+1, some of them offer transporting your gear between huts. That way you can go on your (perhaps very long) hike carrying only the essentials and have the stuff waiting for you at hut N+1. I thought this was a cool idea but also weird: it's more like something you'd expect from a good hotel, not mountain huts! Takes a bit of a certain, ah, _experience_ and _delightful tedium_ away :-)

I'm kind of curious, who will be the poor person that has to carry your stuff somewhere haha! And also if many people use this option. It feels a bit like cheating, no?😅

@@OurSwissAdventure The video showed somebody loading a small van with the relevant bags but I didn't catch which country this was. Could be Germany? Their youth hostels are about equal quality to two-star French hotels, haha!

True, it's quite tiring, but a beautiful hike! Iffisee is amazing! It's hard to believe that this colour is real, without any photoshop or anything!😮

No way you get me there 😱😱🙈😂 hope you fine with all the bad weather on the north...we will be in Meiringen on Monday for some character of mr Doyle's, and a meringue 😉 and hopefully will be sunny day, because last year's in August was raining a lot, we couldn't go to the fall🙈😂👋👋
