Hiking to The Glecksteinhütte from Grindelwald in Switzerland

During a roadtrip trough Switzerland an Italy, Dirk and I hiked from Grindelwald to the Glecksteinhütte! In this video I will show you what to expect and how the hike will feel and look like.

We started at Hotel Wetterhorn, hiked for 3,5 hours to the hut and climbed over 1100 meters! All before descending the same route. The route is well marked and not difficult, although you need to be moderately fit to enjoy it. You will walk alongside a steep mountain and have views all the way to the Bachalpsee on the other side of the valley, you will have to pass trough a waterfall and if you're lucky you will be greeted by some mountaingoats at the top.

@@WanderwithXander I found the "How To" for Glecksteinhutte but not Schreckhornhutte. They are indeed close to each other but one is a red marked way (easier) and the other blue (with ladders, etc). Anyhow, thanks :)

Ik wil zelf komende september ook ergens in Europa een week wat routes gaan lopen, maar weet niet precies waar ik moet beginnen. Ik heb nul ervaring met dit soort wandelingen, maar deze route ziet er heel gaaf uit. Ik hoor graag van je!

Wat tof dat je reageert! Deze route is goed te doen, beetje spannend maar heb je geen ervaring voor nodig. Zolang je maar voorzichtig doet en zorgt dat je op een droge dag gaat.

Super plan! Ik ga zelf de TMB lopen binnenkort, maar ik denk dat je lekker naar Grindelwald en Lauterbrunnen moet gaan. Daar zijn hikes in alle moeilijkheidsgraden te vinden! Als je tenminste naar Zwitserland wil. Deze hike is vanaf Grindelwald
