Great info. What distance would you typically hike at this age? Have you noticed a temperature range where you are still comfortable but the kiddos get too cold to stay out?

What do you mean by "not crazy trails"? When you say "winter hiking", you actually mean "go out for a walk" right? Cause you only have water/food for a few hours for 3.

No I mean a hike. But I’m not driving miles on a back road with no service to get to the trail or on a really difficult trail with lots of elevation gain and loss
