Hiking with my dog in the snow near Salt Lake City, UT

Nala wanted to do a quick hike on a Sunday afternoon. Since we got a late start, we had to change plans and do a hike that we've done many times before, but this time it was covered in snow. We got to the top, just in time for sunset. No stomps in this video :( but great views and lots of smiles. Thank you for watching.

When I lived in S.L.Ut I used to do Rattlesnake gulch all the time. This video gave me hardcore homesickness.

Rattlesnake gulch is another one we rush to if we need to get in a quick couple of miles. Another one of our favs. They actually made a brand new secondary trail for rattlesnake that is a little longer but it doesn’t go straight up the gulch like the original trail. It’s really nice!

Concerns = where is the dog long LEASH for her Safety please, so she won't fall off a mountain or get lost? where is the dog's jacket for warmth, you have a jacket on, where is her jacket or sweater? where is the walking stick to protect you and the dog from other stray animal attacks please? These are valid concerns.

Good questions, but I wouldnt necessarily call them “valid concerns” based on mine and Nala’s experience hiking together. 1) She’s not going to fall off the mountain or get lost. We’ve done this trail 10+ times together. She doesn’t run away and there’s nowhere for her to “fall off”. Nala and I have done over a thousand miles of hiking together. She doesn’t just run off. 2) she doesn’t need a jacket, she is a dog with a double coat which insulates her in cold conditions. Putting a coat on her when we are doing high intensity activity is completely unnecessary in the conditions portrayed in the video, a coat could even potentially cause her to overheat. 3) I don’t need a “walking stick”, I carry protection in other forms if any other animal or person tries to harm us.
