Thank you for the tour! - When we first moved out here we went to Spirit Mountain and got so lost from all the cairns placed everywhere.

Thanks Chris! Do you have any campsite recommendations near this area?

the great thing is you can pretty much camp anywhere in the Monument - if you are backcountry camping just hike into the middle of Wee Thump, if you are car camping, along Christmas Tree Pass Road or at the Wee Thump Ranch

You want Joshua Trees get off I 15 at Cima Road. Between Vegas and Barstow. I am pretty sure there are more than Joshua Tree. Mojave Preserve. That exit goes to Kelso Junction Dunes. It loops all the way around back to Baker. That goes to Dumont Dunes. Another Great area for them is Kivah Wilderness off Hwy 395/Walker Pass CA too.

This is a fantastic area. I'm really glad it was designated as a National Monument. I spent some time in the Spirit Mountain/Christmas Tree Pass area and did a really great hike in the Wee Thump Wilderness last year (like you, I had the whole place to myself). I was planning on doing a another hike and shoot some video back in February, but while we were camped in Christmas Tree Pass, we woke up to white out conditions so I had to skip it. Lombardo is playing childish political games. If he took a minute and engaged his brain before his mouth, he'd understand that the federal government can't steal land that they already own. I saw your short about the FJB graffiti on the new sign too. Must be a Lombardo fanboy. Great video, Chris! Thanks.

Thank you and just subscribed, excited to check some of your videos out. And glad you got to experience a bunch of these places. I wish I lived closer, I'd be there more. So many great backcountry camping opportunities. And yea, Lombardo looks like a "I live for soundbites and mining lobby $$$" kinda guy. Pretty lame, he'd probably get more independent voters like me if he spoke some sense. See you out there!

Great video. I would not take the extinction prophecy seriously. There are way too many dynamic factors involved. Anyone claiming to know for sure undermines their credibility.

Wee Thump is better than Joshua Tree National Park, but don't tell anyone ! :-)
