Top of the World Hike (Laguna Beach)

Hey Chris, thanks a bunch for creating these hiking guides. I wanted to take my dogs on a local hike and dogs aren't allowed in most hiking areas, even on a leash. So, I just hiked to Top of the World and we had a blast. Greatly appreciated.

Great hike. My family does it often. If you haven't tried it, it's even better to start at the trail head in Canyon Vistas Park in Aliso Viejo. You'll enter Aliso & Woods Canyon, you can then either walk about 2.5 miles along the canyon floor or up one of 6 trails that takes you to West Ridge. Then you follow West Ridge all the way to Top of the World. The longest loop is about 6 miles total. Great nature to explore. Especially in the early mornings

Thanks for the tips! I've done it a few different ways as well, and hope to get more hikes in the Aliso & Woods Canyon up this fall when the tourists clear out. It's local to me so if you see me out there, please say hello. FYI I chose this routing because I get emails asking me for the quickest hike here without driving to the top, so thought this way would fit the bill, even if it's a bit steep.

Did the Deep Creek Hot Springs hike yesterday using the PCT starting at the Movaje River Spillway. 14 miles round-trip but the hot pools and cool river swim at the springs was well worth it..the 7 miles back was rough after getting so much sun and swimming. As hot and mostly unshaded as the trail was, I definitely recommend taking a 3ltr. bladder and throw a couple extra water bottles in the bag for good measure.

Question. Is this hike safe to do alone as a girl in the later mornings? Also, are there signs to follow do you know which way you’re going both ways? I’m scared I’ll get lost and take the wrong trail

Yes very safe, it's in a populated area and always busy with local hikers and walkers. You'll be okay here.

Yup, lots of dogs, but it is kind of steep. If your dog isn't used to the distance, you might be carrying for a bit. Good news is that there's water at the top.

Top Of The World is very beautiful and wonderful. But when i search Top Of The World on KZbin the result is very little. I think the people should film more about this awesome place.
