Had the same issue with the Bolt and contacted the service center. They said this is completely normal. They intentionally overfill and use a special grease so that is seeps into every nook and cranny in the impact mechanism. This acts as an extra seal which prevents dust and water from getting inside, but during the break in period some of it will seep out. They did offer to inspect and service it free of charge though, but I declined as otherwise it seems fine.

Hitachi/hikoki has always been very smart in their engineering. Had this with mine too and wasn’t worried, I assumed they did it on purpose which makes sense depending on how you look at it.

Grease coming out is very common on wh36dc me and my friends have this and it happened on all of them to start with and it also happens after hikoki repair it and i also have put it in water on purpose and it works fine

Its just in the begining! Needle bearing is littlebit overfilled. Only comes out the first hard push, then its completely fine 😎👍🏻👍🏻

Did Greece has nothing to worry about it happens to all the metabo HPT impact drivers with heavy use and I'm more than positive that they over Greece it so that the grease last mine stopped doing it after about 4 or 5 months of use and they work great though they do get a little hot 💯🇺🇸

I just ordered the bolt last night and I was about to by the hikoki but was scared to order through Japan amazon. I watched your other video last night and instantly regretted paying 300 for the kit but I should get mine tomorrow. Metabo should definitely offer tool only option on the bolt and it would be nice to have color options. I will be buying one from Amazon Japan soon thanks to you. Wish you would do a tutorial and show the computer screen on ordering from Japan Amazon but I think I can figure it out from one of your precious videos. Also would like to get the stick vacuum u bought

Thanks for watching, there is no real difference in ordering from Amazon Japan than the US, just make an account(no prime membership needed), add a credit card and order. Just make sure to pay attention to shipping costs, it seems the priority shipping is always only $0.50 to $1 more(worth it!). Everything so far arrives in 2-3 days after ordering if it is in stock.

Hey Indy, I seen something similar happen on a channel called tinker with tools and also the Makita guy from New Zealand mentioned it as well. sorry to hear. I was going to order the white and gold one from Japan but kind of held off due due to the grease issue. I was hoping Hikoki would release a new version to correct that issue but no idea if a new driver is in the works or not. I still have my eye on the mid torque metabo wrench and now a new Bosch mid torque one with slightly lower specs. Got an awesome deal on a Bosch 12 v impact. $32 bucks and a 14 piece Gearwrench ratcheting set for $29.99. check out tractor supply.

It hasn’t failed or let me down so it’s still a good choice. Just hoping it doesn’t fail, seems like a odd design from Hikoki.

All the reviewers had the same issue with the grease, I don't personally like it but looks like it is the expected behaviour
