Is there a reason you are using pvc pipe instead of going through cavity ? GREAT VIDEO

Hi Jenno, this is a basic setup, we try to accommodate our videos for everyone. Cavity install isn’t always possible. We have got a cavity installation video aswell. Hope this helps.

How would you fit a camera at the bottom of your garden.... could you do a video on what to do and the options available 🤔

Very well explained video! What’s under the soffit? Is it just a thin piece of wood? Is it okay to mount a ptz camera directly onto it ? Thanks
@HikVisionGuru7 ай бұрын
The soffit in this video was 15mm wood, in some houses it can be just 5mm of pvc. What ptz are you thinking of mounting? What is your soffit soffit in question made of?
@tmanoharanify7 ай бұрын
@@HikVisionGuru it’s wood I can tap it from the window. When I tap, sound differs slightly in different sections of the soffit , Indicating something behind/under those sections, could be the roof plank ? (Excuse my lack of technical terms). I bought a reo link trackmix Poe camera. It’s 1.2kg.
@HikVisionGuru7 ай бұрын
@tmanoharanify as long as it’s pretty solid wool, ie, it doesn’t flex when you push it and isn’t flimsy, then I’d go right ahead and screw that camera to it no issue, it’s only lightweight. If you hear different sounds you’re likely tapping where the roof rafters are coming down (rafter tails).
@tmanoharanify7 ай бұрын
@@HikVisionGuru thank you. It does look a little flimsy to me. Maybe I can mount it in the section where the rafters are ? So it will be mounted onto the rafters via the soffit?

That 'wood' sofit looks very 'asbestos containing cement boardy' 😲

In this case it was 100% wood. You do have to be careful on older build houses as you know, some boards do contain asbestos.

@HikVisionGuru2 жыл бұрын
@@jasotharanvivek3947 brilliant, depending on your firmware version the instruction may differ slightly. If you can right click using the mouse anywhere on the screen, then left click on menu, login if it asks you, then click on configuration, then network, then on that screen you should see primary and secondary DNS, towards the bottom. If “auto dns” is ticked untick it and then delete the existing dns fields and type in 8.8.4.4 for your primary and 8.8.8.8 for secondary, then hit save. If you’re on a newer firmware, again right click, menu, then press the settings/gear icon at the top menu, then network, then again go to dns settings like before. Always remember to click apply/save. Let me know how you get on

Literally the worst way to wire a CCTV camera. The whole point is that you run the cable so no one can get to them to disable the camera.😂
@HikVisionGuru13 күн бұрын
We teach people multiple ways on how to install cameras. I think you’ll agree, the worst way to wire a camera is to run the cable straight down the wall with no protection. Check our other videos on how to cavity install!

I normally put some silicone on the back of the 'termination box' before screwing it to the wall. Just helps that bit more with reducing moisture ingress. Great video otherwise.

@HikVisionGuru5 ай бұрын
Cat5e is plenty good enough for all poe cameras, but cat6 is future proofing long into the future. I’d potentially give customers the option and cost it extra for future proofed wiring, especially when rewiring in future isn’t feasible

Great video. I like the way you work. Looks neat, good job. The Black PVC is nice too, never seen that will have to look for it here. I like those saddles and the box too, will also look into those. We are generally limited to what we can get here though. We cant run wire in cement walls here as they are filled or solid concrete. So running it through the attic then coming down indoors is the usual way. But we also do this conduit method on single story homes if going out to a post in the yard. Always good to see other ways to do things and how things are in other countries. Thanks for the video.

Shame you’ve got cement walls over there, we love running cables through wall cavities, makes such a neat tidy finish.

Why didn't you transfer from inside the building? In Iran, we never cabling from outside because it is subject to vandalism and erosion

This is just 1 method of wiring a system, our other videos show alternative methods. Not everyone wants to run wiring on the inside of their property, not everyone wants to cavity feed. Some people want a quick easy solution 👍🏼

Is there any reason why an NVR wouldn't be kept in the loft? Thanks
@HikVisionGuru Жыл бұрын
If the client requests it goes elsewhere for whatever reason whether it’s ease of access etc. If there’s no power in the loft and getting power up there isn’t feasible. If the loft isn’t accessible or is too small to enter. There’s many reasons, best NVR placement should be discussed with client on site survey with pros and cons
