HI, Thanks for making such great content. I have a question for you we are upgrading the NVR in my office from a Hikvision DS-9632-NI-I8 with 6x 6TB WD Purple drives inside to a DS-9664-NI-I8. If we follow the steps above can we reuse the hard drives we currently own and preserve the footage or do we need to buy new hard drives? Thanks, Brett

Thanks Brett , you can transfer the HDD over, the footage will remain on there until overwritten again 😊

Being a novice on HIKvision I have found your excelent tutorial most helpful as I have to support an NVR upgrade. Not knowing any better I have downloaded the HIK bulk configuration tool as I have been advised that connecting to IP cameras with old firmware can cause problem on an upgrade to a new model. This looks similar to the AXIS device manager but it does not seem to allow you to add sites or groups so I have been trying to export the cameras for the NVR that we have to replace onsite and then file transfer it to my laptop and import it back into the HIK bulk configuration on my laptop but the exported CSV file comes up with an error. Have you ever tried to use this utility, am I wasting my time with it?

thanks for this great video, do you know by any chance if I configure the setting on a hikvision camera , then connect to a hikvision NVR, then set the camera setting on the NVR about that camera, which setting will dominate or taking effect ? setting on NVR or the setting on camera itself. thanks

Hi DVSLTD, I am having a problem with the importing part of these steps. It keeps telling me that the import has failed. Any idea on why this could happen? thanks

can u please advice how to enable to web browse my hikvision cameras online on computer?
@tsnorquist5 жыл бұрын
All you should need to do is browse to the IP address of the camera(s)/NVR/DVR from your web browser. Internet Explorer works best on equipment which requires a plug-in to properly run. Newer / higher grade equipment that doesn't require a plug-in had worked on several browsers I've used. If you're asking how to view remotely, you'll need to reference DDNS which there are KZbin videos on.

Hi , web interface is enabled by default , you may not be using standard ports , to check please use SADP tool on local computer , find the device and check the Web port , use this web port , If using say 83 then put :83 after the IP of the device , you may also find you have to use HTTPS as HTTP has been disabled, then use then the IP of the device , hope this helps

Does that mean you could generate a config from scratch (assuming you had all the correct parameters) and start with that? i.e. start with a blank spreadsheet except the column headings and required info?
@DVSLTD5 жыл бұрын
Hi , we use it a lot for pre-configuration when the same models and settings are used so in this instance it saves a lot of time and error , if using different models you would have to change the model name to suit each time , but the cameras would then be go in as you said , the main NVR file is specific to model and even firmware versions so may not be that helpful when different equipment is being used

We have a few IP cameras which are set to enable the light when movement is detected but sometimes we would like to switch this feature off on all the cameras. is there an easy batch way of doing this because currently we have login to each camera and switch it off until we are finished and then login again to switch it on again?

what model cameras and what NVR , is being used?

@@DVSLTD Hikvision Ezviz C3W currently using the EZVIZ app and then a few Hikvision DS-2CD2026G2 cameras. The problem is that it works as indicated but we need to switch off the alarm trigger sometimes we are having a party or event because it is irritating to hear alarms going off all the time all over the venue. The people actually want to switch the cameras off because currently, it is too much of an issue to log in to each camera and disable it and then re-enable after the event.

Is it possible to export the config of a Hikvision DVR and import to another DVR? Can’t see it anywhere.
@DVSLTD3 жыл бұрын
yes under system and maintenance there is an export configuration option
@epictraveller48623 жыл бұрын
@@DVSLTD of course through the web. I was trying directly on the DVR itself. I think I am going to configure as new as I am going from HQHI to HUHI with only a couple of cameras. Thanks 👍🏻
