Thank you very much to both of you. Abhijit is outstanding and his knowledge along with his interpretation of world affairs is highly educational. I wish BJP would take his comments on board, it is surprising that they are so poor in PR and so abysmal in engaging the public in proposed reforms. Witness the appalling presentation of the Farmer’s laws which they ended up withdrawing, they should learn from Kejriwal who is the opposite, he does bugger all but puts up enough posters and ads to fool the public. BJP needs good English speakers as well to engage the southern population and become a pan-India party rather than just in the Hindi belt. No point talking incessantly on TV channels when half the country doesn’t understand the nuances of high flown Hindi which is what BJP netas are so fond of. I speak and write Hindi, Tamil, English and understand Sanskrit but I find BJP netas (or even other politicians) very annoying when they speak Hindi. They forget the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid) which would be immensely helpful to them if they speak rural or desi Hindi and also get some good orators who can give speeches in English. The South is quite cosmopolitan but BJP needs to engage the people of the South, otherwise regional parties play the language card. Rant over!!

It's not the ministers it's the bureaucracy that runs the govt per se that is not well versed in English. Just look at the grammatical errors in any sarkari document.. I recently read a maharashtra state document and there were just so many errors I was unpleasantly surprised how it was even put out! See here's the crux of the situation in India . India will never majorly be an English speaking country, having the sensibilities , the understanding and the mannerisms of a typical English speaking country and that is how it should be . No matter how many intellectuals parrot incomprehensible words like - "Indian English " , India will remain a primarily Hindi / other language speaking society - just like China . Therefore this expectation that Indians or the Indian Government should "express themselves " better in English is futile . We should just publish in Hindi/Bengali/Tamil/Kannada etc and provide a translation in English . Let the english speakers in the west figure out what we mean. This is how it should be. We should not have to change our thinking to suit westerners.

Your channel is trying to get experts to talk on key policy issues and political news. When newsmen like AIM are given the task of being Subject Matter Experts, their own need to be popular with their followers interferes. AIM has a compulsive need to be clever & smart in every thing he says. He wrote off the EAM early on and is finding it difficult to backtrack. The historicity of Muslims exceptionalism in India is too complex to be cleverly explained away. His pronouncements on strategic policies appear shallow. If this man spends at least two hours a day for podcasts etc. then his think and read time will be very low. Problem with the genuine experts in the other hand is that they are not very good communicators. In these days of uber-specialty you shd get scholars in the respective subjects to be interviewed.
