Every fucking guitarist with a floating bridge should have another guitar for backup, thats like super basic common sense! Love the ending, Stevie. I would hate to have my first ever gig played live on the internet. Admittedly, my last one wasn't much better, but you are right, when we first start, we all suck, we find a bunch of guys who all suck, and we all suck together, but practice makes us suck less, and we end up less sucky. But we play because it's great, some of us become legendary superstars or KZbin legends... most of us end up working in a shitty call centre, dealing with arseholes. But we carry on playing.... because it's what we do... and we fucking love it.

In fairness, quite a lot of these fails are 15-year-old kids in their first-ever band. I can't imagine my mates and I sounded all that great when we did our first gig in our local battle of the bands doing a few originals and Green Day covers (I used to get so into the transition from clean to distortion, and felt like a boss playing the two-string solo from Wake Me Up When September Ends). However, we had a hell of a lot of fun, and really that's the main thing - fostering a love for music. Pleased to say I've improved quite a lot in the last ten years. Those guys doing Comfortably Numb have no excuse. If you're going to play one of the most iconic rock ballads of all time, you better do it justice. Tuning helps.

@nathanielweber78436 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Give the new kids extra shit for being bad. As long as the shit you give them is constructive, they can build on it and learn. Example: If the kids in the 2nd Nirvana band get told that their vocalist needs to take vocal lessons to understand his range better, that's constructive criticism that they can use to improve. If the same person instead says that vocalist needs to understand how to not suck, that would be just throwing unwarranted flak his way because you didn't like his performance. These kids need lots of the former and little of the latter. Bad drummers need to be told that they cant keep a beat, bad guitarists need to be told they need to learn theory. So long as you tell them where they are deficient, they can figure out how to better themselves and their passions. Never criticizing them only leads to stagnation and vague hating just leads to quitting.

5:37 it says "asta-i țuică de Tulcea" 🤣🤣😂😂😂 Țuică (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈt͡sujkə]; sometimes spelled tuica, tzuika, tsuika, tsuica, or tzuica) is a traditional Romanian spirit that contains ~ 24-65% alcohol by volume (usually 40-55%), prepared only from plums.[1] Other spirits that are produced from other fruit or from a cereal grain are called "rachiu" or "rachie". Țuică is also the basement element for creating the traditional romanian cognac from different spirited fruits coffee flavored. Tulcea (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈtult͡ʃe̯a]; Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian: Тулча, Tulcha; Greek: Αιγισσός, Aegyssus; Turkish: Hora-Tepé or Tolçu[citation needed]) is a city in Dobruja, Romania. It is the administrative center of Tulcea County, and had a population of 73,707 as of 2011. One village, Tudor Vladimirescu, is administered by the city.

I don't get it, do these people not practice and hear themselves....when I first started out I literally would get a camcorder and record my bands practices and re-watch/listen to everything just to make sure we didn't sound like shit. Its hard not to cringe at some of these bands

yesssss!!!!! at my old high school i was in a guitar only band, anyway they were the shittiest guitarists ive ever met, and they made us sound like crap by only rehearsing 3 minutes before going on stage. to make things worse every time my band plays at school, my friends mum puts it on youtube.
@franksterdevious876 жыл бұрын
BenC I did that for a high school talent show. Found a drummer and a bassist an hour before going on and just briefly explained to them what to play. didn't actually sound that bad other than the bass player didn't come in at the right time.
@beanman22066 жыл бұрын
wow thats suprising i would have expected them to have no idea what to play.
