Toby was the best Spider-Man because he played a believable Peter Parker. Toby Maguire fit the nerd role perfectly, during the first Spider-Man movie you could actually believe that he was constantly bullied by his fellow peers in school. It was hard to believe that Andrew Garfield was bullied in the remake because he didn’t look or act like someone who’d get his ass kicked by the entire football team thrice over. SpiderMan isn’t just a hero with sass, he’s a nerdy high school kid that was a bullied nobody before he obtained his powers. Even after he obtained his powers he was still kind of a dweeb behind the mask and Toby was a perfect fit for the role. Tom Holland is a great Spider-Man because he hits all the notes that Toby Maguire had hit, also as a bonus he’s around the perfect age for the high school hero too.

All three got their ups and downs. Tobey had the best character arc as peter parker, but suffered from not being a classic spider-man. Also, his version was kinda built on the great writing in the movie, rather than the actor. Andrew had the best spiderman suit and the best spiderman, but his version suffered from writing issues and no one was willing to give him a chance. His peter parker wasn't nerdy in the 1960s way when he was created, but rather more suave to fit modern day. Also, he had Gwen Stacey, which is a big plus cause she's the best lover his character has had. Tom has good writing as both peter and spiderman, but his character suffers from being associated with ironman. The mcu has turned his character into Ironboy, and although I don't enjoy him any less, he doesn't feel like a spiderman should. The best rendition of spiderman I've seen is in the Spider-man PS4 game, but if its just the movies, it's a toss-up. I enjoyed Andrew the most, but I know he's not perfect. Which is the same case for the rest them.

Toby for the most faithful recreation of Peter Parker and Tom Holland for the better personality and comedy of Spiderman. Andrew Garfield is hardly remembered as a spiderman. Chris' "Andrew Gardfield never got a chance" Doesn't automatically make him the better spiderman. In fact, the fact the the two films where he was spiderman in was forgotten is proof that he's the opposite. he may not have gotten a chance, but that's no reason to choose him over the two that are tried and true.
