An excellent idea for so MANY areas! (I'd donate a mess of nice ties, even, as my husband retired from 40-some years of teaching a while back and we haven't yet dealt with his many, many lovely ties. Probably need to be shortened, which isn't very difficult and I _DO_ sew.)

im in 8th grade and we just got a new science teacher this year and hes like 23 and a super cool dude, we had a spring talent show last week and he played the drums for a 7th grade special needs students guitar performance (which the student absolutely nailed, he shredded the solo for master of puppets by metallica and blew the whole school away). major respect to the teacher though, because he doesnt even have the student in class he just volunteered to do it. super nice guy, everyone likes him.

One of my favorite teachers was my cosmetology teacher. There were two teachers. One for each class. The one teacher asked why I always wore black and should take that black crap off my face. My teacher looked her dead in the face and told her buzz off because I was perfect. 🥰🖤 By far though my favorite teacher was my 4th grade English teacher Mrs. Robinson. Everyone had to write a report on their favorite book or short story. I wrote mine in Edgar Allan Poe's "Tell Tale Heart." I made a clay eyeball, a mini lantern, and a bed made out of an old match box. Other kids made fun of me but she told them that I had a higher reading level than them and asked for a copy for her to keep. R.I.P. Mrs. Robinson ❤🖤❤🖤 Edit: Oh my gosh thank you for all of the likes y'all!😊

@@williamf.buckleyjr3227 getting a PhD in education, right? So I oddly know a lot about how your ideals work. 1) you know how many parents in the United States promote abstinence? 2) you know how many parents in America cannot be spoken to about sex? We’re talking Muslim, evangelical Christian, mormon, all goddam religions lol, ghetto (trying to help kids stay on the right path), the whole continent of Asia (“you can date once you’re done with school”) So now that we know that statistically and culturally parents cannot be trusted with that sort of education, there are many people in particular communities that don’t even know about the existence of condoms (or if they do, preach that the pull out method is just as effective) So let’s look at results: Schools that practice sex Ed rather than abstinence teaching/no sex ed are FAR superior in terms of low pregnancy rates. Your opinion about “parents responsibility” may be accurate in terms of belief (parents SHOULD teach their children) but in practice, numbers and research speak for themselves

My homeroom teacher constantly dressed up for various occasions and often brought in real medieval weapons like broadswords and axes (which he used to chop students' heights into the doorframe as well as the occasional desk). I have no idea why that wasn't grounds for being fired, but everyone loved him. They asked him to not dress up "so crazy" for yearbook pictures, so he went dressed as an 1800s gentleman with a tophat and everything. You always knew when test day was cause he came dressed as the grim reaper with a giant "F" on the front of his robe. I never had him as a teacher, but those 20 minutes a day for 4 years were amazing!

Valerie, you can learn at any age. A low GPA does not mean you are incapable of learning. Some learn in other ways than from a traditional classroom setting. I also had a difficult childhood starting from roughly third grade and ended up barely graduating from high school. Fast forward years later and I'm married with children. My husband and I decided to home school. I got to learn all those things I missed out on. I had never learned the times tables, but I learned them and algebra. I also never learned to swim when I was young, but I did when I was in my forties. As the other poster indicated, tough experiences and failures shape your character so there is still something positive to be gained from your past life.
