This is the whole indoctrination thing. Teach them that socialism and labour is the best. Then get them to vote. Must have seriously short memories, look at what happened when the drinking age was lowered. Everything needs to be raised to 21 or even 25. At least then they might have seen the world and had some experience.

I for one would never have voted in line with the conscience of most of my teachers or professors. But then again I did not have access to a smartphone. Changing voting age and trying to sneak HePuaPua through are disrespectful in the extreme.

If the voting age is lowered because they consider themselves capable of making adult decisions then the age of criminal responsibility and incarceration to an adult facility must also be lowered. Include the age of conscription during time of war.

No doubt 16 year olds will not understand this outrageous idea will come with future responsibility and consequences. The government has legally made them responsible, so in future using that precedent they would be responsible to be tried as an adult by the justice system and drafted into the army in a future war, which at present could be soon. Perhaps University lecturer, who wishes to make a political comment, maybe they should be sacked unless they resign before hand. As far 16 year olds voting, almost all youngsters are interested in is the opposite sex and the latest cellphone. The 'Supreme Court', said that 16 yo, not voting is against their human rights, therefore you must be eligible to vote as as you are born. That decision alone should be enough to shutdown the Supreme Court.
