Her bow control is remarkable. Astonishing. Extraordinary. There aren't enough superlatives to describe her musicality. Amazing is an overused word, but it does truly describe her because one is absolutely amazed at her ability.

Looking back at this documentary made now many years ago, and realizing what a gift Hahn is. We are alive to experience it.

Isn't it beautiful that we can now all watch such documentaries here for free? For the time we will be spending indoors this autumn/ winter that could be a great motivation to either listen to more music or practice our respective instruments more, even if music is just a hobby!

"When I play Paganini 1, I have to play it like someone who has big hands." I attempted to learn Paganini 1. But somehow imagining that I had big hands didn't really work for me as well as it worked for Hilary Hahn.

Va MVra - she’s discovering the subtle nuanced techniques of Paganini’s genius. Her understanding of the music from the emotional standpoint is magnificent, having such introspection is interesting and to bring it forth and not so much herself shows great humility. She will just keep improving and sounding better with time. 🍷 💕

Fortunately, i could see her last year in Santander, Spain. By the way, what 's she playing?
@LegoDonut184 жыл бұрын
If your talking about what she’s playing at the start it’s Korngold’s violin concerto in D major, the 2nd movement.

She is an excellent player. Very expressive. Much hard work. But seldom times I see her really laughing. That kind of belly laugh when you are really enjoying something 100%. Anyway, one the best, and she seems to be kind, generous and interested in other people.

You should check out the compilation video of Hilary and Twosetviolin laughing for 4 mins straight. She was having the time of her life goofing around with them, it's endearing.

@Rachel Tolmach laughter is an important part of happiness. And a performer / soloist is always an entertainer, because a concert is always a show. People pay the ticket to see a show.
