Hill sprints are usually generalized for conditioning/fat loss. While it's true that it's awesome conditioning, it's often overlooked for the strength/power benefits. Once spring hits, I always add outdoor hill sprints into my training 2x a week on non lifting days. Since I started up again a month ago, I've already seen my squat shoot up a good 30lbs.

That’s a brilliant set up they have there for you and that helps avoid the real downside of stairs which is going downhill whose shearing forces really cause aggravation knee injuries for those with knee problems and can even cause knee problems for people to do a lot of stadiums. Just started hill sprints with my lifting routine.. 40 yards, not THAT steep though. This plus squats and deadlifts make my leg muscles pop like like crazy!! It's great. I started with 5, then the next week 6, 7 and so on.. Definitely exausted by the end, but you adapt quick. I want to get to around 10, then eventually 20.

Jack Grefiy how did you fix your shin splint pain?
@c.t.96817 жыл бұрын
Firth SmithLord I used Dr. scholls active series insoles, eliminating the pain completely, even runners knee.
@Evi31427 жыл бұрын
Firth SmithLord ask a health professional. The only what to solve it is by eliminating the cause. Shin splints are such a broad topic that it can be a lot of things. Your shoes, the way that you walk, the way that your bones have grown, tention in muscle membranes. For me it was that i alsway ran wrong (landed on my heels), that i always stood and ran with my knees locked, and that I walk to much on the inside of my foot, so i need soles. This was figured out by 4 diffrent health professionals that all have lots of experience in there respective specialisation. And it is still not solved completely

Problem with this is that your feet are splaying out which is bad posture. And if your feet were straight forward you would be risking a pulled tendon. Too steep. Better a bit less steep but longer hill

@Simnettnutrition8 жыл бұрын
I am very active and enjoy "cardio" exercises like cycling, hill sprints and going for a run 2-3 times a week. I don't time myself or go for a specific distance while running or cycling, I just have fun with it!
@LagOknenonok8 жыл бұрын
I really like sprints, because I like the feeling of being "explosive".. So doing them 2-3 times a week would be ideal then I suppose? :) I'm worried that I might overdo the frequency, which is the reason I ask Thank you for your reply! :)
@Simnettnutrition8 жыл бұрын
***** Just listen to your body. I honestly don't know enough about the science behind frequency of training to really tell you. It also depends on what else you are doing and how intense and long you are training. But I would say 2-3 times per week should be okay.
