We were born in a nation that values the electoral college over the popular vote. Also, less important but: "non-bias" has become some kind of holy word to be worshiped above all else. News organizations are so afraid of showing a bias that they won't even show a bias towards the truth, a bias against lies and hypocrisy. Any time a journalist had the choice between truth and balance, they chose balance every time. Honestly, they still frequently do. Look at how often Trump's acolytes appear on news programs; news programs are giving a mouth-piece to people who we know are never going to tell the truth, yet they keep getting booked. For whatever reason, news organizations haven't decided to prioritize truth and filter lies as much as possible. Bogie yes, in closed primary that we have proof the DNC did more than just tip the balance in her favor. In Nevada alone we know DWS removed 2/3 of Bernie's votes. In New York we know they redid registration rules to keep out liberal independents. Not to mention complete disrespect from the media who showed empty podiums for Trump and Hillary than a Bernie rally. Not to mention a third of the debates were cancelled because every time they debated, Bernie's popularity rose. I voted for Hillary and I don't regret my vote for her over Bernie but I will admit that the Democratic Party DOES need to pull out of the old ways it does things and get someone more progressive. I don't think Trevor is defending the reality status of the election, but that he is merely stating that people vote for those who entertain them better or those who are easier to grasp. Compared to our election, the American election is a circus. Over here, more people know about your policies than those of our own political parties and it is simply because your elections are more black vs. white. Not per sé regarding policies, but it is presented in a two party system with both one champion. It is played out as a dramatic and entertaining race, so people react to it that way. I don't support it at all, but I do believe it to be the case.

Being articulate while speaking means nothing if all you do is say a bunch of clichés and platitudes. When you run a campaign saying "let's bring down the barriers" "stronger together" etc, you are not even saying anything. What does that even mean? She is a very rehearsed politician, calculated and stiff. She is a corrupt corporate shill who couldn't give a rat's ass about the average American. Just look at her slogan "I'm with her"'. What an egotistical slogan to use. Trump was definitely the worse choice, but at least he knew how to weasel himself into power by using messages like "I'm with you", "Bring jobs back to America" etc. Of course, they were all lies, but that resonated with the average Joe.
