Ive been using it for over 2 years. Printed thousands of documents and hundreds of pics. The ink lasted almost 2 years before I refilled it

Very interesting video👍 Regarding the print quality, it would be nice to see a comparison using calibrated profiles. I know the profiles provided with the G620 driver are limited to a few Canon papers so, using a "custom" ICC profile (from Spyder Print for example) on both printer would really show the best of each printers. I also own a G620 and saw quite a difference since I have created my own ICC (paper matching) profiles. That printer's driver doesn't come with the profile for Canon's Pro Platinum, but it gives great results when using the ICC profile I have created. I wonder how the Pro 100 would compare with that pro platinum paper. Also, regarding print size, the Epson ET 8550 (another mega tank) would match the Pro 100. It would also be another interesting printer to test against the Canon Pro printer 😊

Spot on review. Thank you very much. My wife and I was debating between the pro-200 and the g620. I print a lot of 8x10 and 4x6's. But she wants bigger prints. I think I will get the g620 for the smaller prints to save lots of money. Then purchase something else for the larger prints.

I was heavily debating between this and the Epson ET-8550. While the Canon not only costs less but should theoretically provide higher photo quality than the Epson. I settled on the ET-8550 for a number of reasons, but the tipping point was that Canon only has AirPrint support on the Mac, with no real way of using ICC profiles. Epson makes an ET-18100 similar to the ET-8550 with 6 dye inks, but it's not available in the U.S.

Thank you so much for showing us a comparison between the print quality! I actually guessed correctly that the darker one was the Canon Pro-100, it probably has richer blacks and more contrast I'd imagine. I've been debating if the G620 is a good printer if I wanted to start selling prints and stickers, as investing in a more expensive printer without a customer base would be risky for me right now. I had heard that the g620 prints slowly, but 6 minutes was way longer than I anticipated! I would assume the ink savings would probably be worth it though.

Thanks! Even the medium quality setting is good and takes less time, I had it on the longest setting.

I just got a G620 and did a couple test prints; noticed it is printing a little darker than i would like; i use a MAC and not sure how to maybe “brighten” the colors…guess this too will be a learning curve!

Thanks, great information. Something strange. I haven't used my G620 that much and it works perfect but the software indicates the Cartidge is low (near 10%). Comparatively the ink is still above 80%. I don't mind buying anothe cartidge but why would it have gone down like that so fast!

Have you used Red River papers on the G620? If so, how did they do? Also, are you printing with Mac or Windows? I’ve heard it’s easier to get profiles on Windows, but a pain in the butt for Mac users. Thanks!

Great video. I didn't know about the gray lever inside the you flip to the left side (for moving or transport to avoid oil spill)? It's good to know because I have to return mine (G6020) which also has that gray lever in the same location. I just received this printer last week and it's having Wifi connection issues (which also prevents it from being used even when directly connected/wired to my pc). From my research, it's very likely a bad wifi card. This G6020 model seems to have this issue so even if it worked out from the start, within 2 years I would have likely go through the same issue. I really like this printer but I will return it for another model (quite possible the G620). For photo printing, what sizes is this printer capable of?

As far as Canon G670 ots due to the red colour Pictures look bright but if you observe closely pictures contains grain like dots, comparing with a Epson this difference can be noticed.

could you elaborate on the issues with printing via wifi on the 620? I have 550, which is the same printer, just missing the scanner part, and so far I have only printed via wifi and had no issues.

I didn't get the printer yet. I'm expecting it in a few days. I wanted quality but also ease should the ink dry out. I had a $500 ET-7700 printer it printed beatiful photos but I don't print every day and I left the printer not to print for almost a year. As expected the Ink dried out. I tried to the mantience that Epson said and it didn't work. I'm confued on how to clean the heads and you can't replace them. So I found this printer the G620 and those printer heads can be replaced and you can pull them out to clean. So I am taking my $250 gamble and getting this, plus from what I understand the quality is good. I liked your review thank you.

Does the prints with G620 fade in a few months? Also do they smudge easily if they come in contact with water?

I just watched your very interesting and thoroughly informative video. It’s timely in that I’m looking to replace my 10 year old Epson WF3640 inkjet printer. I’ve been getting unsatisfactory prints and I’m about ready to buy new expensive ink. I’ve also had issues with with printing to the Epson from my new Mac Studio, and it appears that Macs have issues to Epson printers in general. No problem printing from my iPad or my iPhone, or any PC. So, I’ve taken Epson off my list. I almost bought a Canon G6020 last year when I had to replace a part on my Epson WF, but the price seemed high, but the price has now dropped. I also saw good reviews on the Canon G3270, and have seriously been considering between the two. I also considered a color laser printer, but I have a perfectly good Brother laser printer that I use for most of my printing. So, the reason for me to have a color printer is for printing images and high quality is very important to me. I think that either of the Canons would work for me, but then I discovered the Canon G620 and then your video which pushed me over the buying edge. I have been using my Canon G620 for about 6 months, and have been very happy with it. However, I have found that the images look better when printing from a PC than from my Mac Studio. Again, your review was excellent!

Great video. Can anyone confirm if print quality varies between USB and Wifi? I'd be a bit shocked if they compressed the images for wifi transfer.

You have an informative video but you left out very important considerations. The 100 printer can use pigment ink. That ink lasts longer than dye ink and much less resistant to fade. That leads to archival long lasting photographs. That is why you have the equipment, pictures. You have talked about time and money… I care about photographs and longevity. Otherwise you have provided a mostly good review. BTW The 100 printer cartridges can be reloaded with ink, thus vastly reducing cost

I appreciate the reply, but the Canon Pro 100 is definitely a dye based ink. Not pigment. As for longevity any 3rd party refillable ink is inferior, some have color fading within months.

The print resolution on my g620 is just not there for me. I can't tell in your video if the print is fuzzy at all, but I have the same two printers, and while I can get similar colors, the edges and ink lay down are WAY smoother on the Pro 100. Same photo, completely different level of quality. I literally see ink dots on the g620 prints. Am I doing something wrong?

You might be choosing the wrong paper settings.But I would say that the pro one hundred is better because it was designed for professionals and artists

What would be your recommended photo printing program for windows? I don't need all the bells and whistles just something to allow changing color profiles and maybe some filters. Thanks for the video also

Very nice printer for the money the 620 but I wish that doesn't have soooo ugly screen. I would rather paying few dollars or euros more for a more nice colorful screen. But except that yes it's a very good and capable printer that will satisfied the most of the users

yeah, the UI feels dated, but it delivers where it really matters. I wish they had a good wide format 13x19 type printer with the same ink tank features.
