This is why I love hillclimb. Not for the speed, not for the sound, not for the crazy maneuvers, but because you always end up seeing the strangest cars that you’d never ever expect to see with engines you’d never expect to see in those cars. It really is a “bring anything to the table as long as it goes fast” type of sport.

I am curious why he is keeping Evo fairly "high". There is a lot of car movement under breaking and turning. Maybe that "softness" gives him better traction than hard rock setup that would bounce all over the place.

So cool to see Niko Pulic still in action. I remember him from 20+ years ago here in Falperra Hillclimb driving a grey e36 M3 Gr. A. He was awesome. Hey @HillClimb Monsters, are you allowed to use any RTP footage from the 90's Falperra? There are quite some pearls there, like Antonio Rodrigues run on Ni Amorim's RS500. Fumes coming from the right front end of the car, people think his engine was dying, but he was so goddamn commited...he crashed on the last "curva do papa" because of the oil that was falling onto the right wheel. Still, he just hits first gear right away, and still does a good time. I can only imagine his time hadn't he crashed. It was in 92,everyone can see the RTP footage from that year. Classic material! To the other hillclimb addicts out there, search for Rampa da Falperra 1992. There was live transmissions every years from the public access tv. Sorry for the long message

That Intergrale is in need of a break and gearbox upgrade and it would decimate. 40 years on and the S1 is still the coolest car at any climb. Also Props to whoever set up that Astra's suspension, nice work.

At the kind of numbers its producing and how ballistic it was, we´re sure they were very deliberate on the engine choice ;)

The engine itself has never been an issue, especially with the LET setup. The real challenge lies in the gearbox and the 4x4 configuration. Unfortunately, Opel from that era lacked gearboxes robust enough to handle the required power, as well as a suitable 4x4 system designed to cope with it.
