So you’ve experienced the hilleberg windchimes ray 😂 wrap some electrical tape around them or get some shrink wrap. Don’t let that put you off a soulo. I’d be happy never to use another tent again. And I’ve got a few 😂. What a lovely pitch you got too. I just received my x6 delta pegs last week so I’m good to go in a few weeks once the wife’s birthday weekends done and then my sons. Happy hiking 👍🏻

Nice video Ray. I’ve been using a Soulo for a long time alongside other tents. My advice is to ignore the ‘not so good’ reviews. For me it is the single finest four season solo tent.
@ScottishRoyal12 жыл бұрын
3rd its a cracking tent, unless it's raining or snowing or blowing a gale it's easy enough to keep the door rolled down for airflow. I use a plastic close peg with some soft tape around each clasp. Roll door down to desired gap, and use close peg, bobs yer auntie. 👍

Good to see you out and about. I love my Soulo. I always try and pitch away from high condensation areas... If i do I try and put something under the wind side to lift it so airflow is better. Its amazing just how little airflow you need to keep the inside dry. I am left handed and it is one of the main reasons I love it. Every tent has pros and cons. I predominantly use the Soulo as it covers all aspects of the Highland weather. However I do like the Durston X-Mid 2 Solid See how it goes this year... Cheers

Ireland needs a skii lift .. big time . Great video , thanks for the review of the tent . . All seems a bit precarious to go up to the top of a hill and get buffeted around. I'm not sure if it's something I would ever do . The chances of becoming a flying balloon are too great to feel responsible. But I'm guessing if I had a ski lift I would prob try it out for the craic . Who knows , flying might be a quicker way off the mountain . Stay safe lads .

Another great vid. Thanks. I was inspired to do the WHW after watching your channel. I had a Soulo and eventually moved it on. Always found it was much better suited to windy and/ or freezing conditions which helped to reduce condensation dripping off the the inside of the fly and showering me with misty droplets inside. On balance, Prefer the Akto. Interested to see how it suits you. All the best.
@outlawedlandscapes2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I'll probably never own a tent so expensive, but it'll be good to see just how well they perform. Even more so alongside the Hexpeak should you ever wish to compare the two. I definitely find that the weather always seems a lot worse than it is when exposed (on a mountain / in bad weather) - I reckon it's the natural response to being 'compromised'. I got one of they wee anenometers as well and testing it along the coast has certainly opened my eyes; however, sometimes it's better not knowing as it adds to the overall experience of being at the whim of Mother Nature! :D Lastly, you were bang on about 'Glorious Glencoe' - what a place!!
