This is the best example of how to lighten a cast iron road going flywheel I've ever seen. Anyone can buy a light flywheel, which is often overkill and undesirable for a road car anyway. This mod makes a massive difference to drivability and just the 'fun factor'.

I recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed your Imp videos greatly. It's fifty years since I was messing with Imps and at the time I had access to a well equipped machine shop, but not the knowledge to exploit it properly. It was still great fun, but if only KZbin had existed then!

Wow! Andy, you have the maturity, confidence and knowledge of someone who's being this stuff for many more decades than is believable. Either that or you look fanastic for your age😂. Respect

very kind thank you, i was lucky to be able do a full Ingersol/dresser-rand engineering apprenticeship in there own training school, sadly closed when John major put the sanctions on iraq and the oil / gas pumping job moved elsewhere.

Well thank goodness theres younger guys like you, not only filling the engineering skills shortage but pushing the boundaries of a fantastic little engine that was always underdeveloped and wrongly maligned as a result.

I like the medium heavy Tonya Harding for knocking some sense into it.

Hi, nice job but i was told not to use gloves while using lathes etc when i did my apprenticeship.

Thin polymer gloves are o.k. as they will tear if caught up , leather or cloth workshop types a definite no no .

Fitted a Chrysler Comps lightened flywheel when I rebuilt an engine for my '66 Super and it made a noticeable difference to the pick-up. Like a lot of CC stuff it was cheaper than the standard item and it could all be bought through the main dealers.

Skillful use of your mitsies with that little knocking stick 👍 You not got a mag base and adjustable arm for your camera? That might get your shots where you can see the face of the dial gauge

Enjoying your channel, but you go on about safety then don't wear safety glasses on the kathe🤔
